AARP and DVC --- any perks

I've already booked next summer's cruise thru DU and by the sail date hope to have both an AARP card and a DVC membership. (waiting on for DIS'
FROR for a Beach club villa. can I apply any discounts to an already booked trip and are there any perk onboard for these two milestones.

AARP gets you nothing on the ship. DVC gets you an invitation to the DVC member celebration, hats, lanyards, a chance to win some other "DVC stuff" prizes, magnets on your door, and sometimes a "captain's log" book (not a big deal) in your stateroom.

One cruiser recently reported that her TA said she would not get any of the DVC perks unless she sailed on points. In Feb. and March, we were on cash and got the goodies.
