Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone knew what time the American Adventure Rotunda is available for receptions? I recall reading somewhere that it was later in the day but not an hour after Epcot closes, like most theme park venues. I might be imaging it... But if you could help me, that would be wonderful!
Thanks!

I think they're 9 pm to 1 am or 9:30 pm to 1:30 am. People often have a cocktail hour at Italy isola with illuminations prior to the reception in the rotunda.

Check out Carrie Hayward's Passporter Wedding book. It is basically the Disney wedding Bible! Loads of info in there! :thumbsup2

Lol. I'd like to know this info, too, and I'm not even engaged!!! I draw the line at buying the book before I have a ring!!!

And could you have a morning reception in Epcot and then wait to have the cocktail hour during illuminations and use the AAR for the reception? It'd be nice to do an around the world theme and do the whole thing in Epcot!

Yes. Your planner will probably advise against it, and guests might be a little grumbly at being dragged outta bed for an early AM ceremony without the inducement of breakfast, but technically you could do it that way.

if you don't do the morning ceremony, they kind of force you to have a 730pm ceremony followed by the cocktail hour during Illuminations and reception to follow. Your guests prob wont eat dinner until about 1030. I LOVE AAR but because the dinner time is so late I chose not to have my reception there. I have some older guests that would be bothered by that.

Also note, you need a min of 100 guests for the Rotunda. Your guests will have to use the outside bathrooms unless you rent the upstairs for extra $ I think its $500 but not sure.

7.30 seems like it would be really tight. Someone I remember said they offered her a 5 PM ceremony time for the AAR. I'd try to get that- that way you can have your staged exit and not be crazy rushed.

I was married on 9/1 and had our reception at AAR.

We did the 7:30 WP slot and then had our cocktail hour at Italy Isola. The reception started at 9:30 and went to 1:30. The cocktail hour was moved due to rain, but it all worked out perfectly.

The 5:00 slot would give you a little more time, but it may be too much time. I'm not sure what your guests would do between 6 and 8 when the cocktail hour would start.

With the 7:30 slot, we did a real exit and then our guests left immediately for the cocktail hour (including our family). We had to take family pictures at AAR during the reception, which was fine by me.

Let me know if you want to see any pictures or anything else I can help you with. It was a dream come true!

I don't have all my pictures back yet, but here were a few from the sneak peak.

And Our Sneak Peek Video

Amazing photos...I have a question about the 5pm time slot do they suggest anything for your guests to do before cocktail hour at Italy isola. I have heard people having refreshments at the patio of grand Floridian but don't know how much extra price..

What did you do for the large group as a welcome event!

That might be a good idea to do- that's a pre-cocktail hour cocktail hour! Lol. Honestly I'd want to enjoy the cocktail hour and reception myself instead of spending the whole time taking photos. Even though it'd be more inconvenient for my guests and they'd probably be starving, I'd be more inclined to take the 5 pm time slot. But then... I'm kind of selfish, lol.

Does anyone know if they would let us use the AAR with a guest count lower than 85? We really love this venue, but I don't think we will have that many people. If the food and beverage min is $8200, and we meet that with our guest count lower than 85, do you think they would let us use it?
