Hi all,

In my insane attempt to absorb all of the information that I can before my cruise, (Hey, I'm a nerd!) I found out that while sailing on Easter may have been a good idea, it puts us in Nassau on Monday.

They apparently celebrate Easter Monday, where all shops and govt. offices are closed! Has anybody sailed at Easter in years past? What extent are the closures etc.? Do the shore excursions and tours still operate?

I was just starting to get a handle on things and now I get a wrench in the plans. Help! :(

The first cruise DH and I took was WAY back in '88; a 3-day on Carnival (old ship, since retired). This was over Holy week (Th-Sun). We were in Nassau on Good Friday and yes, most of the shopping was closed except for a few street vendors.

Based on that experience, we weren't real impressed with Nassau and decided to stay on the ship on our 3-day Wonder cruise in '01. But this time we are going to visit Atlantis just to say we've been there.

We were in St. Maarten on Christmas Day and half of the island was CLOSED! LOL -- Even the bathrooms at the beach we went to!!! That was the 7-day Eastern in 2001.
