The least member services could do is make sure their online reservation system can handle the volume when their offices are closed due to a holiday! I've been trying to book the same reservation for the last hour and every time I get half way through typing in all the guest names, I get a "Service Unavailable" error. I realize that a lot of people are trying to get December reservations at 11 months out, and if I can realize that, why can't Disney plan for the increase in volume to the online booking site?
 
Definitely frustrating, I've been having this error at all times however, not just on peak. Just had to keep retrying :(
 
A "trick:" Just book it with one name, to get the reservation...you can call MS "later" to add the other names.

This "kick-out-mid-reservation" seems to happen regardless of time (during normal folks' awake time, middle of the night, prior to peak reservation dates, for reservations for low-season times)...it's seriously frustrating. But just booking the room w/just one name does seem to work pretty much all the time. Good luck.
 

OP,you are talking about Disney IT.
Just having a basic working website does not seem possible.
 
Finally got it done! I'm renting our points with Dave's, so I wanted to get it done quickly, but what a pain! I hope the family we rented our points to has a magical vacation!

Edited to add: I kept getting a message saying my session would time out after 20 minutes -- I wonder if the IT guys set the timer up wrong so it exits after 20 seconds....

I used to have that problem all the time but fixed it by disabling the pop-up blocker in my browser. I had noticed that the problem always occurred exactly 90 seconds after the booking page loaded so I thought perhaps the booking software was doing something behind the scenes that failed if a pop-up blocker was in place. On a whim I disabled it for the DVC website and the problem went away. I don't know if that is what is causing your problem but if you do use a pop-up blocker, try disabling it for the DVC website.

Another option is to try a different browser. I find the DVC website behaves better with Chrome than with Firefox but again, that could be because of some of the add-ons I have installed on Firefox. I still have issues loading some pages, the Annual Dues page for example, no matter which browser I use. I usually let it try for a minute or so to load the Dues page, then cancel and refresh and then it finally loads. Very annoying!
