I am getting really frustrated this morning! As the $ has now hit the magic $1.80 / £1 I have been TRYING to order my Travellers Cheques. What a palava!
First stop, M&S, good rates, commission free, free delivery, PERFECT. Until I try and pay for it and they will ONLY accept payment with an M&S card (which I dont want).
Second, Travelex. I locate a branch at Tower Hill in London, just around the corner from DHs work. Order the TCs, then it asks where I want to collect and the Tower Hill branch doesnt come up as an option!! DH wont go in and get it himself as he is too busy at work to "faff around for an hour whilst they sort 50 Japanese tourists first"...his words!
Third, I try my bank, Nat West. E-Mail them to see if they will match the rate of M&S and Travelex (NW are offering only $1.78) and they WONT match the others.
Fourth, give up online and hit the high st, but all the Travel Agents and the Post Office are all still $1.78.
Im thoroughly cheesed off with the whole thing!! Anyone have any other suggestions I could try??
