AAACK! Where's my discount?

I am having a little problem with my AAA package.

I booked 8 nights, 9 days Oct. 7-15. MYW tickets w/ Hopper and Plus. Dining package for 2 Adults, 1 Child. No trip insurance. $2219. Fine.

Change of plans - school calendar NOT what I thought it would be, boss needs me on a Friday I thought I would be off, etc. No problem.

Call to change package to 7 nights, 8 days Oct. 15-22. MYW w/ Hopper, delete the Plus options. Dining package. No trip insurance. $1988.

Didn't realize the price didn't drop like it should have for taking off one night of hotel, one night of dining, and Plus options. Now I am only saving $30 off the Disney price! What is THAT?

I am sincerely hoping there was a mistake when they added up the cost the second time. $30 doesn't even offset the cost of the AAA membership! The things we deleted should have dropped the price by nearly $300, not $230! I will be on the phone first thing Monday morning to see exactly WHERE my savings went! If they can't fix it I will need the names of those GREAT AAA agents some of you have!

I'm not sure but you may want to check if AAA charges a fee to make any changes to your package. I thought I had seen someone post that there is a charge to make changes to a package booked through AAA.

Our AAA charges fees for changes. This is why I will NEVER use AAA.

Our AAA doesn't charge for changes as long as you are more than 45 days from departure. I checked that before I declined the trip insurance. I can call and change every day from now until mid-August and although it would drive the agent up a tree it won't cost me anything!

Strangely enough, my new confirmation stuff came in the mail today and lo and behold - the price is lower than what she told me on the phone! I thought maybe the insurance cost had been added back in there (which the Disney site is fond of doing) but that doesn't come up to the figure she gave me on the phone, either. Weird. Anyway, the figure on the paperwork is the correct amount - the components of the package minus 15% for the room. Not sure what that quote on the phone was. I will probably give her a call Monday just to make sure we all agree. But for now it looks like I was getting my knickers in a knot over nothing!

Did your change of dates happen to bump you into a higher priced season? That could be another reason that the price is not what you hoped it would be?

That is good that you have the confirmation paper and it is lower! I would probably still call to make sure though.
