Normally we are 10 day type of guests. This time it's just my daughter and I squeezing in a trip of sadly only 2 days. (*3 nights) Now the drama of what to do!
We have hoppers- so I was thinking Epcot early AM then over to AK*however AK has EMH for that day so should we start there? (but I am hoping the rivers of life will be a go by then and we would want to be there in the evening hence the start at EPCOT. (dates are april 30-may1)

MK day two with an evening dinner ytbd at EPCOT then back to MK.

What to fastpass? UGH!!! I am better planning for 6 of us for a week then this stinking 2 day trip!
HELP!
ok is it just 30 days out for Fast pass booking? We are staying onsite? I can't see our dates yet.

You have discovered the curious conundrum of the shorter trip.

Each hour of each day becomes far more precious (and relatively more costly) on a shorter trip than on a longer one.

The longer trip can offer easier options as you often have "another chance" if something
goes a bit off-track.

We have never done Hoop De Doo as it was always crazy expensive for our large family but now I was thinking well it's just 2 of us..... but then that is an awful lot of park time I would be wasting......

Do the last show of the night.
(If you can wait to eat that rich, but tasty, food that late.)

We LOVE the Hoop!

I do short 2/3 night trips all the time. The key is not trying to do everything. You have been to Disney before and have probably ridden everything. Write down your favorites, then think of which favorites have the highest average waits. Fastpass those. The key here is flexibility and NOT trying to do everything. You book fastpasses at 60 days if you stay onsite, 30 days if you stay offsite. I wouldn't hop MK->EP->MK in one day. Only switch parks once. On short trips you need to prioritize. I'd do Epcot first and AK later in the day on your first day.

Honestly, I'd be prepared to do less. I do short trips solo quite often - no other choice in my case.

I would start at AK, then once finished there go to Epcot for the rest of the evening unless ROL is running - try to get a dinner package for it.

If that happens then start your day at Epcot and move over to AK with your FP+ for AK. Then Day 2 at MK and if you want Hoop Dee Doo Review do it on your MK evening - that may mean missing Wishes though so you would have to decide which is more important to you. We loved the Hoop when we went.

If you are staying on-site and have tickets, you should be able to book FP+ 60 days before your trip. If you are staying offsite, it would be 30 days before your trip.

Have fun!

We are also doing a short trip. But I really just want to enjoy Magic Kindgom & our hotel so I just did regular tickets, no park hoppers. Will do Magic Kingdom & maybe Hollywood studios.

It's hard - but figure out what you really, really want. We are doing just ONE day at the parks (we are 10-12 day folks). I figure:
Morning at Epcot - Test Track, Spaceship Earth (had to skip this last trip because lines were nuts), maybe another ride or two. Then wander around Flower & Garden followed by lunch at Le Cellier.
Afternoon at AK - Meeting my nieces who are here all day (no hoppers) for their first trip. Will do some shows and rides with them. I decided to use my FPs here so we can easily hang out with them. Dinner at closing at Yak & Yeti.
Evening - DHS just for the Star Wars fireworks which we have never seen.
Late night - EMH at MK. We will ride whatever has short lines :) No real must-dos although I'd like to do 7DMT again. Oh and Country Bears - we have skipped this one for some years now.

I have done a two night, two day trip before. We hit MK for one day, then AK and EPCOT for the next.

It depends, are ya'll ride centric people or do you just enjoy the place? If you are ride centric, MK has the most rides so you are probably going to want to do a whole day there (we never do more than a half day there but we aren't ride centric and go often). Do you want to see the FWs at MK? If so, maybe do most of the day at MK, hop over to Epcot to enjoy a little F&G mid-day, then back to MK for the FW. I'd do AK in the morning then back to Epcot again for F&G. During F&G, we end up at Epcot every single day, either afternoon or evening. Where you are staying could play a role in the whole thing as well. Are you in a deluxe or moderate/value? If a deluxe, you have the monorails and IG at Epcot if staying at one of those resorts which makes hoping just plain easy. Whatever you decide to do, don' stress it. I really wouldn't try to pack too much into it for such a short trip. Having said that, I've been known to start the day at AK, ride safari, walk the trails, ride EE and hop over to HS, ride ToT, GMR and grab a show then ride the boat to YC/BC and walk over to Epcot to finish the evening. That wasn't planned, I just did what I wanted at AK and moved on, found I just didn't want to spend any more time at HS that day (which is unusual because I love that park) and ended up at Epcot. I think I was even in bed early that night, around 9 because I'm not thrilled with the Epcot FW show.

Ok since my fast pass window opened up I had to decide quickly. So, as of now, the plan is day one start at MK. Do as much as we can until around noon. Grab lunch at Casey's(her favorite) then head to AK hoping for ROL opening. If not after AK hop back to MK. Day 2 start at HS do toy story RNR TOT and star tours then take the boat to Epcot and spend the rest of our day there. With Soarin being closed rides here that are must do's are a minimal. We are going with the mindset of just hitting our favs and squeezing in whatever else we can.
