I just joined AAA and was wondering if you could tell me if I can use it for discounts on my upcoming trip. Not for my hotel but can I use it at restaurants or anything else??TIA

they will send you a booklet that will tell you about the discounts. I do know that you get I think its 10% off your meals at universal. The rest I can't remember without getting out my book.

You should be able to use AAA to purchase discounted WDW Admission tickets. If you are going to other parks, you should be able to find discounted admissions at AAA too.
:)

Last February we got a AAA discount at Sweet Tomatoes. I believe the Earl of Sandwich gives a discount also. Maybe someone else will know that for sure.

Not Disney related, but I get a discount at my local outlet mall using my AAA. Not at all stores, but for sure at Banana Republic & Gap Outlet. Go to AAAs website and look under "savings". You never know what deals you'll find.

If you are going to Universal Studios or IOA you can get a 10% discount in the parks on food and souviners.

You will need to purchase your WDW tickets in advance at a AAA office. Disney does not offer a "show your card and save" program at their ticket booths.

I always tell our members to ask if they offer a AAA discount. It never hurts to ask!

How much does it cost to join AAA? What's the average? Is it annually or monthly fee???

We got our Discovery Cove tickets through them last year with about a 10% discount I believe. The also offer Sea World and Universal discounts.

I just joined myself and it was $48 for me, and I think $27 for a second card...and I had a "10 day deal" where I got 13 months for the price of 12, and a waiver on the second card extra fee ($5 I think). I'm waiting anxiously for my information to arrive!

But is the $48 annually, or monthly?

cokegal19-it's an annual fee, and it varies with where you live. Here in WA the annual fee is $54 a year for Basic coverage. In Alaska it's nearly $85! Yikes! Sometimes there is also an enrollment fee. Sometimes the coverages even vary between states (I move a lot, so one day I actually attempted to research which state it would be most beneficial for me to enroll in! you can bet I chose not to enroll in AK!)

WOW!!! That seems pretty cheap!! only 50 bucks a year??? What does AAA get you (besides Disney discounts....)Isn't it like a car insurance thing??? It seems that just one vacation to disney it will have paid for itself!!! This seems like a really cool deal!! :cool1:

cheap? well, i guess it's all relative. i had AAA for years and never used it (other than to pick up the occasional map)! it's not necesarily a 'car insurance' thing in the common usage sense. rather, if you ever lock your keys in your car or have a flat, they'll come help you out. Up to 4 times anyway (i think), unless you have the Plus plan (then you get more). Then you can stop by thier office and get a bunch of free maps & tour booklets. you should go check out their website for all the info. aaa.com. it'll ask you for your Zip code then direct you to your local chapter.

Any idea how much of a discount you get on Park Tickets through AAA? I was going to buy our tickets through the same ticket broker we used last time. Wondering if AAA would be just as cheap as we are members.

They also give a 30% discount on glasses at Lenscrafter, if you need them. Great deal!

*sigh* Battery went dead at the post office just today, and had to use my AAA. Tow truck was there in 15 minutes, jump started in 30 seconds, and I was on my way. Last year we had serious issues with the alternator on our "paid off" car, and AAA was an absolute godsend. We'll never be without it again. I  AAA especially since I'm the one who has to drive the clunker; DH gets to drive the new Camry because he drives much farther to work.

So for me AAA is definitely worth it, and even more so since we got a pretty good package from them for less than I expected. :flower1:

jjct1- well, i just called AAA re: WDW ticket prices and this is what they told me: $336 for a 7 day expiring park hopper pass with 2 plus visits (adult). this must be the old Park Hopper Plus ticket- the fellow didn't seem to know the difference. something doesn't seem right because it doesn't seem like that great of a deal. you can get a similar ticket for cheaper from Ticketmania! this was just a quick call i made so maybe i didn't ask the right questions. I know someone else had posted quite extensively their findings re: AAA tix prices on this site- maybe do a search? good luck!

My husband wants to join and I am wondering the same thing - is it worth it. I need to find out just how much I can save on Disney tickets. I know that there is a AAA lounge somewhere at WDW where you can go and relax and get something to drink.

I probably would never join AAA just for the Disney Discounts (which you can find similar through the ticket brokers). But we had to have our vans towed 3x last year.
It was definately worth it having AAA. It makes me feel so much better with DDs are out with the car knowing that they have AAA.
But if you have similar towing and travel coverage elsewhere, I would just pass on the AAA and buy tickets through Ticketmania or one of the others.

Good Luck! :)
