If I make a ressie without AAA and then get it, can I get the discount when I arrive by showing the card? Or do I have tell them upfront?

Also is it 20% off each resort rack rates?

We did just that. I booked our room for June, 2004 a few weeks ago and just sent in my registration for AAA last week. CRO never asked me for my card but I was prepared to just hang up and call back to get another CM who would not ask me for the number. AAA is running a special right now on the internet at least in our area where registration is only $45. We also got the same deal in the mail.

I have heard now about this $45 rate and only see a $53 rate for my area, but I have contacted AAA to see if I can get the $45. I told them it may just be the push I need to buy the plan. We'll see how it works!

I made my ressies with CRO & then called later for the AAA discount. They did not ask for my card number, but I was ready to give it to them. I know I will need my card at check in. I would not wait until you get there to actually ask for the discount though. Call and ask for the discount before you go. I got a 10% discount (not 20%), so I think it depends on where & when you stay.

Lewski709, I wouldn't wait until I checked in. The AAA rates are not always available. CRO & TA's can tell you if the rates are available on the days you want. I couldn't get the discounted rate for my 4 nights in January, but by adjusting the dates by 2 days, I got the discount! BTW, I love my AAA card; you'll get a lot more benefits than just a discounted hotel room. It's well worth the $$.
