That is probably why there is a rate difference. I think the end of August is considered value season.

value season starts around 14th-16th August, and is usually quite a bit cheaper

For me last year, my AAA rate never changed, but I was able to get an even better deal with the SuperSaver Rate when that came out later.

I just called to adjust my rate. We are going in November 2010 and she gave me a AAA discount of $9 a night. The rate went from $269 to $260. I was hoping to save more then that. She said she applied the obstruted view rate & AAA rate. Does this sound high to you. It is for Nov 11-14th. Thanks

I just checked with HRH again and she told me the AAA and AP rates were higher than the supersaver rate for when I am going in April....

I tried the AAA website and it said nothing was available for a one-night stay Jan. 17, 2010 (the day before MLK Day) but the Universal site shows $227 at RPR for that night.
Has anyone found anything for that time through AAA?

I was quoted a rate of $273 online AAA for 8/12-15. I have put in an email.

I'd love to do this through my TA but if the AAA rates beat it...

They did say packages wouldn't come out until after jan at the earliest though so I'm hoping to compare then.

When you guys call to change, are you getting hit with a change fee?

If you book your room direct with loews ,there is no fee for changing rates, and you can cancel upto 5 days before arrival without charges.

Does anyone know if February is considered value season or not? Also, what a AAA rate for the last week in February would be? We are thinking about HRH for a two night stay pre-Freedom of the Seas cruise in 2011. Thanks.

I have standard rates of $269 & $219 for next summer, 1st time i've diy'ed booking - am i best to hang on for any other rates or call them now???
dont want to keep changing rates if its not necessary as i'm calling from the UK - hope that makes sense!!!

I am in the UK as well and have booked 3 nights at RPR for next 27-29th August. I booked through the Loews website, and my original rate was $246.39 inc tax, so I just emailed Loews Reservation and asked them about the AAA rate and they came back with $196.22 - As I have booked 2 rooms this is quite a saving. Anyway what I am trying to say is just email them:
smatos@loewshotels.com and give them your reservation number and ask them if an AAA rate is available and what it is. A lady called Steph has alwyas been very helpful and she applied the lower rate for me and I recieved email confirmation from RPR a few minutes later.
Hope that helps, no phone call costs!!!

Would anyone be able to check the AAA rate for those nights for me? Also, can I only book 1 room with an AAA membership? (Or can I just call the hotel directly and ask -- not sure if they need a membership number to provide a quote)

You can just call and ask. You don't need a membership number to book, only to show when you check in.

Can you book more than 1 room with a single AAA membership?
I was under the impression you could only book 1 with an AP & assumed that the same would apply with AAA

I was suprised for next June I was quoted a rate by my AAA agent of $273 for HRH but only $253 for portifino...does anyone know why it would be less, isn't HRH usually cheaper than Portifino, all I could figure is some type of convention.

How do people like the Portifino we have only been to the HRH

if you want pbh, and it is cheaper than the others, book it then!
