AAA won't accept transfer of reservation??

AAA won't accept the transfer of my reservation I made on my last cruise (rebooking). Maybe I waited too long. I just assumed that I could do it at any time. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

When I rebooked I didn't request AAA because I wasn't thrilled with my TA and I didn't need the free soda mug. Now that they are giving credits instead of soda I thought I'd do it.

But when I called they said that since my category is full on the ship they can't accept the transfer. I thought they just took the reservation I already had and got their commission (and gave me whatever perks).

Oh well ... I've got a great rate - I wasn't able to beat it with any other travel agent.

I find that very unusual. I always rebook on board ship and have the res transfered to my AAA agent without any problems. How close is your upcoming cruise?

My cruise is November 27th - more than 3 months away. The AAA TA said my category (11) was sold out so she couldn't offer the a better rate (I wasn't looking for that) or the $75 credit. She gave me a higher price (by $700 and without the $200 rebooking credit) for a category 10.

Should I try again with a different TA?

If you are not looking for a better rate or a shipboard credit..then what is the point of transferring.
