AAA vs. Disney Store

We need 5 day Park Hopper Pass. The Disney Store sells them for $244.95 and AAA sells them for $238.00. I've only ever bought them from the Disney Store so I'm leery of buying anywhere else. Has anyone had any experience with this?

I've bought mine at AAA, cheaper, and legit. For my family of six last year, we ended up saving @200 bucks total by buying at AAA.

Until I moved to Florida always bought my passes at AAA. Looks exactly the same as WDW passes. No problems at all.

I bought nine of those same passes from AAA a couple of months ago for our upcoming trip. I wound up saving over $300 from the gate price. Does the Disney Store price include tax? The AAA price does. And btw, in NC the AAA price is $220 for a 5 day hopper.

There is a difference with my AAA. AAA tickets are paper and The Disney Store tickets are plastic.

To those of you saving $200 or $300- How did you do that? We have four kids (one of whom is an infant, so no ticket there), but I'm only saving about $38. We are buying 2 adult and 3 child tickets. The AAA price does include tax.

And why would the price be $18 cheaper in North Carolina? It's the same AAA, isn't it?

Were the paper tickets flimsy? Would you buy them again?

I just bought my 5 day park hoppers about a week and a half ago when I heard Disney raised their ticket prices. In MN, the price was $230, including tax. I believe the gate price with tax is over $255. Maybe the Disney store tickets don't include sales tax? I know I saved $125 purchasing 5 of them. My AAA office is right down the road by my daughters' schools. The nearest Disney store is at least 30 miles away. I already belonged to AAA, so there wasn't the debate about whether the fee was worth it, which may also be a concern to some people.

You'd think, huh?!? I heard that AAA was raising prices a couple of months ago so I rushed out and bought my hoppers. Turns out that the prices never went up in NC, or if they did they never updated the website. Here's the current price list for NC and SC.

These tickets were just like the tickets I bought at the Disney Store the last time I went in Dec. 2001. They're not really paper, but more like a laminated piece of thick construction paper. They look just like any normal ticket you used to be able to get at TDS. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.

Well, all I have to say is Thank Goodness for North Carolina!

I see now that those of you who saved $200+ were comparing the AAA price to the gate price (Who pays gate price? ha ha).

I found North Carolina's AAA website and called their 800 number. It's true-their 5 day park hopper ticket was $220, not $238 like my AAA,or $244.95 like the Disney store. All I had to do was pay a $10 Fed Ex fee. All prices included tax.
