AAA vs Costco

Hi all –

I am getting ready to book a Disneyland trip for September. I am looking at packages through both AAA and Costco. They seem very similar in features and price.
My question is – has anyone else been comparing these two and is there any compelling reason you would go with one over the other?

Thanks

Carla

I compared them last year and we went with AAA because we needed the parking perk. However, the free Character meal (Goofy's or Ariel's) from Costco could be a better deal value based on how many members are in your party and if you want a character meal. Those character meals cost around $36/adult and $20/child.

We did this last year thru Costco just because of the character meal.

Thanks:

Oh right the Character meal - I forgot to say that although the character meal is included in Costco and not the AAA you can it on to the AAA package for $116 for 4 and then it equals the Costco one in price.

AAA = $1436 w/out character meal (can be added for $116) + diamond discount card
Costco = $1556 w/ premium character meal + $20 card

This is for a "Premium Character Meal" which I could not figure out what the difference was from the regular character meal - anyone know? We have 2 adults and 2 kids.

The Premium Character Dining is Goofy's Kitchen and Ariel's Grotto, and they are more expensive than the other character dining options. You can use them at other locales for up to a $38 value. Menus and prices are available at allears.net.

We booked through Costco. The AAA discount was not as good as what Disney itself was offering (5 for 3), so we were better off using that deal. You can't combine deals. So, we booked through Costco just to get the character meal vouchers. We were going to eat at Goofy's Kitchen anyway, so this saves us about $120.
