AAA vs. BRP???

I wasn't interested in the Best Rate Program before b/c of the non-refundable deposit. At 120 days out, plans can change so easily. But now, we've booked our airfare and are approximately 65 days away from our trip. Now, I'm thinking that it might be for me. :sunny:

Here's the problem. I already booked a room at POP for our dates and used my AAA discount. I THINK (if someone can confirm for me) that that deposit is refundable. I just called over the phone and asked for a AAA discount. Should I now book through the BRP on-line and try to get a better rate? And then call back and cancel the other room?

If a better rate doesn't come along for BRP, will I at least get as much of a discount as I would with my AAA? I was going to wait for the call-in AP rates, but now am unsure if there will be any? :wizard:

Any advice, options, suggestions? We're just going for a few days, but am trying to save money for school, so any and all discounts are REALLY needed this time!!! Not sure what to do here. :confused3

If you already have your AP's I'd say, go with that discount. And yes, the room only deposit is refundable. My parents got POP in early december for $59 plus tax. The regular rate is $77 plus tax. I think with AAA its $65.50 plus tax. So you're still better off with that. Otherwise, I don't think its worth it to buy AP's just for the discount, unless you are staying a long time.

Yes I already have an AP. I just wonder if no other discounts come out if the BRP is best? Anyone have any idea what the rate is right now for the beginning of Nov. at POP? With AAA, it's like $375 for 4 nights -> will BRP be able to top that? :goodvibes

Ifyou have the AP, I'd go online and check to see if it's a better rate. It sounds like you still have a few days to go before the 60 day mark. Altho they might not have what you want at this point.

In our case, it saved us about $80/night at YC. I started with AAA ressies (yep, refundable deposit!) for 2 rooms at CBR. (There are 5 of us) I would have saved about $500 switching to the BR for the same rooms, but instead opted for one room at YC--which was still $200 less than the original ressie for 2 at CBR (with AAA). Hope that makes sense.

Bottom line--it doesn't hurt to check!

We are booked for 4 nights, the end of Oct/into November and got the same exact quote that you got, $375 with AAA discount for a regular room. The quote for a preferred room is $419. or $104.81 per night. The other day I called CRO to find out if it'd be worth getting APs or not, and the CM told me that the AP rate for the preferred room is $101.48 per night. So that's only a savings of about $3 per night for the AP rate VS the AAA rate. I don't think we are going to buy APs just for the discount. LOL We may get them, if we decide that we'll be going back to WDW again in the next year.

So basically, for Pop Century at the same time frame you are going, the AP rate saves you a couple of dollars a night over the AAA discount. Hope this info helps :)
