Hello! Everyone,
I was just wondering with so many people booking their vacations if any one has booked with AAA? And were the discounts for the hotels and tickets reasonable? I was also wondering if it would be better instead of AAA membership, get an Annual Pass. It looks like people that buy the Annual Passes get great discounts, is it worth it even thought you might not go to Disney every year?

We usually just book everything ourselves. You can call Disney and ask what the AAA room rate is without going through AAA. It may save you a few dollars. Also check with www.mousesavers.com for great codes that can be added to your room rate for even more money off!!

We were able to get a better discount on the rooms with our AP than through AAA. But remember that AP discounts are not guaranteed. They may be for only certain times and only limited numbers. So I wouldn't get an AP just for the discount. I would first see if the discount was available and I was able to secure a reservation with the discount, then purchase the AP, if it was cost effective (i.e. discount was bigger than the added expense the AP would be compared to the ticket I was planning to buy otherwise.)

AAA rate is sometimes the only discount available. In that case I would go with a AAA room rate. I would price out the tickets and see if it were cheaper to go through AAA or one of the other reputable ticket brokers.

I booked a room only vacation with AAA last year - and it was not that much of a savings. I think an AP discount would be more (that was what I was going to do for our 2005 trip - until the new packages came out). The new packages seem like a great deal to me - price them against booking everything separately - and you may be surprised. I am a bit of a control freak - and had it all planned out with AP rates (hoping that I would get them when they came out!). Then I priced the MYW package - same if not a little cheaper! So I booked it with DU travel! Dealing with AAA was a pain - I spent more time being transferred around and put on hold any time I called them!

Hope this helps!
