Well I bit the bullet and bought our family a new camper and now we are planning to take to WDW in October 2012.

So I'm almost positive that I read on here that I call Disney direct and ask for AAA rate on the campsite?:confused3

So now on to the tickets... I see that you purchase them through AAA directly and the price depends on the location but are these paper tickets?

We have always had vacation packages with the resort card/ ticket all on one. And most importantly can you charge to resort card as ticket will be separate I assume?

Yes, to ask for AAA rates for Fort Wilderness, you have to call direct. There are a limited number of these discounts, so you may not get it, but it never hurts to ask.

You can purchase tickets through AAA and yes, they are paper tickets. make sure you check undercovertourist (through mousesaver link) to compare prices.

Once you are at the Fort, you will receive a Key to the World, like you do at the regular resorts. So you can still charge to "your room". You can go the service desk at the Fort and have them apply your paper ticket to your room key if you want. Not a big deal.

Thanks!

I had my AAA agent book my reservation only campsite last time we went. It was just easier to tell her what i wanted and for her to make the reservation. That way i knew she could get me the discount because they only get so many. It was cheaper for me to do reservation only and not the package but she checked that. I purchased my tickets through them also. They were comparably priced.

I used a Disney specialist so she knows all the ins and outs! There is a girl in the Scranton Office that is Excellent! PM me if you need her name. We are just south of you, below Montrose.

Best of Luck!

Head over to the Camping board, there's a ton of information there.

You can book through AAA making a package, or calling Disney directly to book a site with the discount.

Have fun, and you'll get hooked at staying at the fort. Make sure you read into the topics about the best sites for your camper. Some are a little smaller than others, and some are harder to get into. Don't forget to take a couple days to just sit back at the fort and enjoy it.
