AAA Temporary Card OK?

It looks like our real AAA card isn't going to get here before we leave tomorrow. Does anyone know of you can use the temporary card to get the discounts in restaurants and stores?

You can...as long as you DID renew, or applied for a REAL AAA card. They DO scan or type in your card number and as soon as they do this, they will know if you are an actual AAA member, and then your card will be automatically activated the 1st time you use your card, no need to wait for the "real" card to arrive in the mail. ( if you read the "small print" , that came with temp. card , it will tell you this info. Just thought I'd save you the trouble, (and your eyesight, small print is SO small )!

Just a tip... I used to work for AAA and to my recollection, the temporary card is good for about 2 weeks from the date it was issued, with a hard expiration date. AAA employees have the ability to change that expiration date to another date if needed. For instance, if your temp card is due to expire mid-trip, you can have your local AAA office print you another temp card that goes til end of October, for example, to make sure you're covered.
