AAA room only discount ?

If I use AAA for a room only discount and then purchase MYW passes separately through Disney, what would I be missing out on by not booking a package?

Nothing, really. Unless, of course, you want the dining plan. You can only add it with a package. If you are going to purchase things separately, you would be better off getting your tickets through a discount broker like ticketmania.com or undercovertourist.com or even AAA.

I would ask your AAA TA if you still get the AAA Diamond Parking card and the AAA Disney discount card if you do room-only. On our last trip I used AAA for rooms and tickets and ended up with those plus two coupons for free pins. Those are the only perks I can see for buying the tickets through them - nice perks though!! Discounts on tours, DTD and Swan & Dolphin restaurants, merchandise at DTD, etc.

We did not want the dining plan so we used AAA room only and bought tickets from ticketmania with the mousesavers newsletter link. Got our tickets right before the new year so at old prices, saved about $10 more per ticket. Already received tickets, ticketmania did just fine.
