AAA res. question.

We've booked many Disney trips through the same TA and have had no problems whatsoever, this trip however she wasn't available and we went through a more centralized TA over the phone. I called a few weeks ago just to make sure things were right on the res. and they couldn't find it, here the original TA simply gave me the wrong conf. number. Okay, minor oversight, however this made me a little paranoid about getting to WL and the CM telling me they can't find our res., so while central res. can't pull up a AAA res. is it possible to call the front desk of the WL and have them pull it up to check it? I don't want to bother them, but I also don't want to show up with no res. at check in, when we were checking in at CBR this past May, the people at the next window had this exact thing happen to them with a AAA res. Has anyone done this or is it not possible?

The front desk at your resort won't know anything about your reservation until a couple of days before your check-in. Also, your call to the "front desk" won't really go there - there is a central answering service at WDW that handles all incoming calls. Only after you tell them what you are after do they send the call on to somebody - in this case they will just send your call on to central reservations.

This is why I won't go through AAA, i hear too many bad stories like this, I deal with Disney directly. I own my reservation. Since AAA owns your reservation, you're stuck dealing with only them.

Did you know that you can book a AAA reservation through CR? When you call Disney ask for the AAA rate and they will give it to you if it is available, not only do you save money you save the hassle if you have to cancel or rebook, since doing it through AAA you have to pay a fee if you change(down here it is $25.00) This way you get a confirmation number from CR and they own your reservation although you get a discounted price, you will have to give them your AAA number and usually have to provide it at checkin.

This is not completely accurate you CAN book a ROOM with AAA discount throught CRO but you CANNOT book a package through them, you can only book a AAA package through AAA.

To the OP, If you called Central reservations they might in fact have your information but they would not discuss it with you, because AAA owns the reservation and they will only discuss it with them. and the hotel itself will not have your information until shortly before you arrive.

Now of course AAA has to send you all your hotel/package information, your confirmation with all the details of your trip etc. vouchers etc. Once you have those you should be good to go.

SO SORRY, I didn't read where it was a package just about arriving at the WL for the room........again a thousand so sorrys........geesh But it is accurate about anyone wanting to save some money using a AAA rate, and not having to deal with AAA directly.

Funny thing is we've booked room only numerous times through Disney CRO and they've screwed things up royally, every time we call they have wrong address, phone number, and names of people not even going on a particular trip. I called once to add a day onto a one night stay and the CM said the reservation was under my fathers name, he wasn't even going on this trip and I had never even mentioned him to them, and they always have our account under an old, and I mean 3 year old address. I've never had any trouble with AAA, in fact every trip with them has been great, I just never used this particular TA.

We are no longer going with AAA our last vacation was a nightmare. Our TA dropped from full time to one day a week. It was a nightmare we had asked to upgrade to preferred at ASMo and upon arrival they had upgraded us but to all-star sports, we had no interest in staying there. No one would discuss who had authorized the change because AAA owned the reservation. So we ended up standing there for over an hour waiting for our a AAA TA to call back and then another 20 mins. while they searched for any room at ASMo. Then our extra 2 days that were supposed to be room only had been canceled so we had to book a new room on our own and move all of our luggage because ASMo were sold out.

Right, and if you find a problem, YOU can fix it then and there, not through a third party.

We were considering booking our WDW trip thru AAA, but the rate that their TA quoted us was $25 more that what I could get by booking online on Disney's website. So we booked thru disney dot com. Staying 12/26 thru 12/29 at the Poly! :santa: A short three day stay, but just what the doctor ordered.

But CRO can't save us $200 on our trip if we want a package unless you have a code which I've found to be a headache to wait for, AAA can . Hey everybody has their likes an dislikes, we've had great success with AAA, we'll keep using them. And no CRO has yet to be able to fix the problem, at least a dozen attempts and their system continues to default back to old information.

My upcoming trip is booked through AAA ONLY BECAUSE it was $400 cheaper for our package, and you can only book the AAA rate directly through CRO for room only. So, I'm saving serious money, but so far, a very unpleasant experience with lots of screw ups. Finally I called CRO directly to make sure everything was in order. Although CRO cannot make changes to your reservation, they CAN access it and tell you what it says, which made me feel much better.

I use AAA for a lot of things, like local theme park and zoo discounts, but not for Disney. As others have said, they don't seem to really know much about Disney and I end up telling them all kinds of things myself! Their packages include things I don't need or use (searaycers, for instance) and it's too hard to compare packages to see if I'm really saving money. What I did for our upcoming trip was to buy discounted tickets though undercover tourist, then booked a room-only at ASMo with the AAA discount. However, they are doing a TripTik to get us there! :lmao:
