AAA rates?

Does anyone know if the AAA discount is out yet for 2013? Any idea what the discount is? Like 10-15%?

It is out already. The percentage off depends on the resort. When I called last week for a Dec 2013 trip, it was around 15% at the CR. But when I called back last night to switch my package to a room-only to apply the AAA discount, I was told there was no discount available. I am not sure if all the allotted discounts were taken already or the CM I spoke to did not know what he was doing. I will have to call back.

*UPDATE* I called again this afternoon (8/5/12) and was able to switch my package to a room-only and added the AAA discount. It was only 10% off at the CR...either it went down or the CM I initially spoke to last week told me the wrong discount. At least it is something. But hopefully a greater general discount comes out next year. But you have to be careful with your dates...one date can make a difference of having a discount or not. Originally when I called this afternoon, there was no discount as I was told yesterday. It seems like the extra day I added over my original reservation (when I was first told there was a AAA discount) made my entrie stay not eligible for a discount. To see if that extra day was the problem, I asked the CM to check for the discount without that date, and sure enough the discount came back. I believe the discount was not eligible because that extra day I added was considered "Peak Season", whereas my other nights were "Fall Season"...and WDW was not having any discount for that! They want all the money they can possible get. But I can't believe that one day negated the discount for the entire stay. So always ask them to check for other dates if you have any flexibility. (I hope this was not confusing...)

No. AAA discounts are only for room reservations. I got a 2013 discount on a mod at 10% which is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, but I'll apply a Disney R/O discount if one comes out. And I'll probably get our tickets from UT for a discount as well. We decided not to bother with a package since we don't want the DDP anymore.

If you book directly with WDW travel, you cannot apply AAA discount to a package. However, you can apply AAA discount (for room only) if you book the package with AAA travel directly. I personally do not want to use AAA Travel. I hate losing control of my reservation. Any changes, you must go through AAA Travel.

I agree with your feelings about AAA travel. The agents that I have spoken with (and used- once-) have not been all that knowledgeable about the ins and outs of Disney vacation options. I spent more wasted time correcting our TAs mistakes than I care to remember. It really wasn't worth it. It really irritated me that I had to call her to apply a package discount that came out later- and she knew nothing about it until I told her.

We did a room only reservation for marathon weekend in Jan and got the AAA discount. We also booked our package for next weeks trip through AAA and got a good discount on our 2 bedroom Beach Club Villa. The discount isn't as good as some that Disney offer but since Disney had nothing out there for our dates, the AAA discount was better than nothing.

Same here, take what I can get for now and hope disney comes out with something eventually that will be better,
