AAA Rates

No, sadly that was a room only rate. We are hoping to come April 8 - 18 now, and possibly foregoing the cruise (I think I caught Disney fever... dammit!) in exchange for a longer stay at the World. Time will tell. Good to know that AAA will redo the reservation if need be. I'm kind of leery of booking with someone else just in case I get locked into the ressie and not able to take advantage of a good deal that comes out later.

Thanks for the info about the Disney Visa too. Unfortunately, they won't let Canadians apply for the Disney Visa. (or at least they wouldn't at the time of our last trip to Disneyland, in 2007)

Speaking of Disneyland... what fun it was to sit down at the computer today and show my 10 yr old DD (who has only been to DL before, and not DW) the DW map online.... "see? this is the magic kingdom..... AND over here is Animal Kingdom and look at all of these resorts! AND water parks!!.. and Epcot has places from all over the world, and fireworks! AND Hollywood studios ...... " Trying to show her the vastness that is DW, compared to what she saw at DL! LOL! (this is approximately where I must have caught the fever...lol)

Whoa! It has been awhile for you! The quote you got for PO sounds really good if that included tickets. Not sure how fast Wilderness goes, but April is a very busy month with many surrounding states giving kids a week off for Spring Breaks. I couldn't get a single room in val or mod last year during that time. Had to stay off site :guilty: It wasn't pretty!

Yes, if you book a spot now and a code comes out you can apply it or they cancel and rebook you, whatever it takes to get you the best rate. I've done this myself through Disney Travel and AAA did it for me this year too when a free dining pin came out.

They ask for a $200 deposit and then payment in full 45 days out. I have a Disney Visa and they give 6 months 0% interest on any disney package that includes tickets & room. That means when I make my final payment 45 days from the time I go, I can still have 6 months to pay for my trip with no interest. (Not that I'd do that, I prefer to pay before I vacation or else it's no fun.) Still, if you need a little buffer just to get your cruise in there, you know you've got that 0% option on your Visa.

Hope that helps! :yay:

And the deluxes for mid-July through August are 20%.

You got a better rate than I did, then.

I was booking for July 18, which is the first date of the value season. I got quoted $348.50 for GF garden and $403.75 for GF Lagoon. Both are exactly 15 percent off rack ($410 and $475).

Just tell her that all of Disneyland fits into the PARKING LOT for Magic Kingdom! That's what one of the bus drivers told us. (Although that might not include California Adventure.)

Sorry, I misspoke. When I looked again at the pricing they gave me for AKL CL on the same dates it was 15%.

I booked a Beach Club standard room for $3034 7 nights with a 4 day base ticket ($888) = room cost of $2146. That's a 20% discount off the rack rate of $340 per night plus tax. The discount was the same percentage for Beach Club Club Level garden view.

I booked a Beach Club standard room for $3034 7 nights with a 4 day base ticket ($888) = room cost of $2146. Disney's website has it for $3570-$888= room cost of $2602. That seems to be a 20% discount. The discount was the same percentage for Beach Club Club Level garden view.

Whatever the final percentage, that's still a pretty good discount!

I was wondering about that. It's been a LONG time, as I mentioned, but I was sure that even Magic Kingdom alone was bigger than all of Disneyland. But I didn't know for sure, so I didn't say it. But I'll be telling her what the bus driver told you tomorrow morning! :thumbsup2

Called Monday and booked POR 1/7-1/13 for $1039.53. Called back yesterday when I heard the AAA rates were in fact out for my dates and the rate went down to $831.66. So, 20%.

PS We stayed in a cabin last month. We loved it!!! Lots of info on cabins on the camping board.

Did you book thru AAA or WDW direct?????
