We went on our cruise last august and pre-booked for next july...I just joined AAA and wonder if I can get their discount on top of the discount we already got for booking while on board.. :flower:

If your reservation is still with DCL you can have it transferred to any other TA and get whatever benefits/perks they offer. If the TA can offer better rates, your reservation can be adjusted accordingly usually wothout losing the on board rebooking benefits.

As long as you aren't using a Florida resident rate you're fine. AAA will give you an additional perk if you transfer your ressie. Check with DU as well b/c they have a rebate too. Last time out AAA was a little cheaper because they had a good sale for February, but not always.

Just call me the negative one - it strikes me that some (although not all) DIS'ers have had issues with AAA TA's. You may want to post that question or do a search. We had considered doing our DCL cruise through AAA, however, I had a hard time getting a TA to just return calls before we booked. We made (and kept) our reservations with DCL - and was VERY HAPPY with them.

Okay- I'm a little confused (that's normal!) do I have to transfer my current reservation with DCL to a AAA representative to get an additional % off or can I transfer to any travel agent and get additional % off?? I am going to transfer to who we used before (mouse ears vacations)....I just wanted to make sure we were going to be able to afford it before I put any non-refundable deposits down...

We've always booked our WDW/DCL trips thru AAA and done quite well w/ their discounts. We booked a DCL Oct 7 nite E. Carribean trip for 2 adults thru AAA w/ a Cat 7 Navigator Verrandah for $3000 plus we got $250 ship board credit. (when we booked it was at a AAA travel show offering a special $100 shipboard credit plus the automatic AAA shipboard credit of $150) The thing I've always done to save $$ is to book airfare & transfers on our own. It just has worked out better because it's just the 2 of us and AAA doesn't use JetBlue, Song, etc. Good luck :earsboy:

I think you have to book with AAA or transfer your ressie to AAA in order to receive any AAA discounts. I do not think other TA's will give you an AAA discount.....it's not like hotels where you show your card and get a discount.

We were originally booked with DCL for the August repo cruise and transferred our ressie to Costco a few days later and saved $400.00 off DCL's price.

I'm confused, the TA at our local AAA office said the only perc/discount over booking directly with DCL was a $50 onboard credit, which would be more than eaten up by the trip insurance she said we "had" to purchase directly from AAA. Perhaps I should call another office? Did anyone get a better offer on a 3 night cruise?
