Going in July. Spending July 18-21 at WDW. Want to spend 2 nights at UO/IOA either before or after. There are 7 + an infant in our party. Looks like the cheapest rate for that time is at RPH with AAA. Questions:

1. Do I have to book through AAA or can I book through the hotel? (Don't see a place to see AAA rates on the Leows site)
2. Is 2 rooms the best way to go? We have stayed onsite before and loved the Express Passes- but that was with only 4 -it will be double the price with 7 - is there a cheaper way?

No you don't have to book thru AAA and yes you can call the hotel and book that way.
with that may in your party you would have to book 2 rooms cause the room limit is 5 and I wish I knew a way it would be cheaper on you but I don't.
If you go to the Loews site just click on the partners button below after you put in your dates and you will see AAA and click it.
Hope this helps

You can't book AAA online. You must call the hotel or call AAA.

With 7 people you will need two rooms.

Decided to book 2 garden view rooms at PBH AAA rate July 22 & 23. $254 +tax Rooms are bigger than RP and difference was only about $30 more per night. Still hoping for a better rate as time goes by.

You can book AAA rates online through the AAA website.

I've never been to Universal; debating a visit for 2 nights in July. I want to stay on site for FOTL access. Royal Pacific AAA rate is $211.65 per night; is this a good?

When I compare the rate to the express package ticket add on of $39.99x4 per day; it seems very reasonable.

I can always find the Disney deal; absolutely no experience with Universal.

It's a good deal for a short stay. Remember too that the purchased EP's are only one ride per day per attraction. Staying onsite you get unlimited from the morning you check in until closing the day you check out. (HP supposedly though will only be once per day which is better than normal openings of NO Express)
