AAA Rates - Booking through Disney

Yes... Just ask for them.

They may ask you for your AAA number, and they may not. I've had both things happen. And you will need your card at check-in. Only AKL ever asked me to show it, tho.

I just booked for Aug., and the CM told me that AAA discounts were not out for 2007 yet - told me to call back in March or so to see if I could get the discount (Disney only allows so many discounts).

But I knew the discounts were already out, so I waited a polite 10 minutes, called back, got another CM who gladly applied the discount (saving me $700 for our 8 nights at Poly concierge). So call back a few times if they tell you that discounts aren't available!

They most likely will ask and you must show your AAA ID when you get there. The name on the reservation must match thename on the AAA card.

I got a AAA discount for May 2007 and I called back in December. Each resort has a limited amount of AAA rooms available.

I actually just did this and it was so easy (much easier than calling a AAA agent). I wasn't asked for my AAA number, but I had it handy just in case. I'll also be sure to bring my AAA card with me in case I'm asked for it at check in.

I agree with a previous poster. If you don't get the answer you think you should when calling Disney, wait a bit, then call back. Even if you have to do it a few times. It never hurts to just ask questions. :wizard:

I have never tried to get the AAA rate through Disney but I have talked to a friend of mine that is the sales rep for Disney. He has told me that you cannot get the AAA rate when you call Disney directly. The prices they give will be their regular prices. That's just what I have been told.

In researching our trip for this coming December, I called Disney and asked for the room-only rate, then the AAA room-only rate. The AAA rate was lower. So it would seem that at least some CMs do tell you the AAA rate. :confused3

I actually had printed out the rate chart off of mousesavers and had it in front of me. When the castmember said we could only book a courtyard view with bunk beds at WL, I knew the rack rate was $345 a night. I then asked what the AAA rate was per night and she told me $310, then she gave me my grand total. Seems like a decent discount to me and not just giving the regular rate. I've always wanted to be educated on the rates before I call to be sure I get a good discount. I still have my fingers crossed that I can call back in a few weeks when the April AP rates come out and get an even better deal (modifying my existing reservation).

Anyway, I just wanted to post this so that anyone who's looking to do the AAA rate can know that you *can* do this by calling Disney directly.

FYI- You can book a room only hotel reservation directly through Disney and get the AAA discount. You CANNOT book a package directly through Disney and get the AAA discount.

I always my own trips. I always book room only. I always try to use AAA, if a code is not available. I have only paid rack rates once and that was when we stayed at POP as opening day guests. It was worth it to be able to say that we were there first. ;) Maggie

I went though Deams Unlimited which is Disney Authorized, I don't know about owned. I asked about AAA disount and the representative told that the price she gave me was the only that she could give me. I was going to book it when i decided that I would get a quote from AAA too. I went to the AAA website and had a representative call me at home with the quote. It quick, easy and AAA was cheaper by $13.00 for the same package.
I have always just called myself and got the AAA room only which has always cheaper, not much but at least it's something.
