Hi!

I would consider booking a Disney resort with the special AAA rate. Would it be possible to add the DDP?

Greetings, Wuzefelix

I think you can book a package through AAA that includes the AAA room rate plus the dining plan and park tickets. Not sure if you can get it without the park tickets, just the dining plan. You can book room only directly through Disney and get the AAA rate, but not the package from what others have said.

As PP said, you can't use 2 discounts at once, so if you use a code to, say, upgrade your park tickets to free water parks and more option, or the free dining plan (normally in Sept), then you cannot get the AAA discount in addition to that.

Hope that helps.

My understanding is that if you want the dining plan and any AAA discount you must book your package through AAA.

I just talked with my local AAA today and I was quoted for a package 5 nights/6 days (room at POFQ, 6 day tickets w/ PH option, DDP, trip insurance) for about $300 less than Disney themselves. I am not sure if you can get the package minus the tickets and still keep the DDP since I believe that you can only attach the DDP to a Magic Your Way package (which is essentially what AAA is selling to you). It is still worth it though to contact AAA and see what they can offer you. I am always looking to shave some $$$ off anywhere I can.

Hello...

We booked our package with AAA for five nites at CSR 1 adult 2 DD (9) 4 park hoppers and the DDP. This was the only way for us to get a discount during our time frame using DDP. This saved us a little bit of money  .

WDW AP-ers can buy a AAA dine package without tickets. Otherwise a AAA dine package will need to include MYW tickets.

A AAA Room Only can be booked through Disney. And guests cannot book a Room Only, and then add a dining plan. A room only is just that, room only. Dining is not something that is bought separate. It's part of a package.
A AAA package has to be booked through AAA.

I dont think thats right. AP holders can book a room only plus dining with the AP rate. Theres no AAA Room only with dining...

We have booked rooms at AAA rate and then later(weeks) added park tickets and dining without a problem through Disney directly. Hope that helps.

Then you payed rack rate for the room. Disney cant book a AAA package unless AAA calls them.

No I did not pay rack rate for the room. I figured the cost very carefully so I know. It was actually cheaper that way then the quote I recieved from our AAA TA. Not sure what any of the policies are but I know what I payed. And had to show my AAA card when I checked in.

All Im saying is there is no way possible that a AAA member not going through AAA can book a AAA package. The "Internal note" that asks for the AAA card to be shown at checkin may still have been on the res but I imagine you got a AP rate. If AAA members can book a package through Disney theres no reason for AAA to even book disney.

How would I have gotten an AP rate without being an AP holder? I have done it this way for the last 3 visits. There are TA's to book travel for those people that choose not to book directly. I have checked with a couple TA's(not just AAA) and I have ALWAYS been able to get it cheaper by doing it all myself. Many people want the convience of having someone do it for them. I just enjoy doing it myself.

I mixed you with another poster, sorry. I understand what youre saying but only a AAA agent can book a AAA package. And you cant add DDP to a room only even with KTTW tickets. If the OP has a AAA room only booked and calls to add DDP they will be told to call their AAA agent.

All I know is what I HAVE been able to do. And with each of our reservations(AAA discount) I have been ASKED if I wanted to add dining with my res. This has happened a couple of times with different cms. I just don't agree with you because we HAVE done it. It may not be called a AAA package but we definately have added tickets and dining to a AAA room discount!

I agree. I just booked a room only with a AAA discount through Disney for the last three nights of our stay and was asked if I wanted to add tickets or the DDP. However, I don't know if that's because I already had a package deal with the FD through Disney. A few days earlier I was told by another CM that they couldn't even look for a AAA discount and that I would have to call AAA to do it.

The only thing I can think of is whomever booked the package at the res center found a comparable rate to AAA. And maybe the show AAA card at check in was not removed from the comments. Otherwise I don't know how a WDTC AAA package could be booked direct from Disney. :confused3 Just guesswork on part. First I ever heard anything to the contrary regarding AAA packages. :confused3

I have a AAA package for my upcoming trip. As I research everything I called Disney after getting a quote from AAA. I could have gotten the discount on the room only but would have had to book the room and then the tickets I think the DP could also be added. The AAA package gives me my room. tickets and DP add a decent savings, they also have some other perks that you dont get with Disney such as the story time.
