AAA rate callback?

What's your experience with getting AAA rates when none were available when you booked? I just booked a stay at WL, but they had no standard AAA rates available . I booked it just to get my reservation in, but I plan on calling to get rates. How often should I do that? What's been your success rate?

Chances of finding a AAA "standard" room rate are slim to none. You'll have better luck with a Woodsview or Courtyard View.

Concur...we just booked WL for mid April through AAA. No Standards available. They apparantly are very rare. When we went on our trip in 2005, we booked almost 6 months in advance. We were able to get standard then, but got upgraded to courtyard upon arrival.

Yeah, I thought 11 months would be enough...::sigh::

I don't know what it is about the Standard Rooms at the WL. Even when the package discounts come out, those discounts are never available on the Standard Rooms. I guess it's because they have so few Standard Rooms at that resort and they never have to worry about selling them out at rack rate.

It could happen that standard rooms will become available. I've had it happen a couple times with clients who book WL really far in advance it will only show availability in the higher room categories like concierge. I just keep checking to see if standard becomes available and sometimes it does.
