We are booked at CSR in June with AAA discount through Disney -- the discount is 15% off the room. We have AP's so we can't book a package, just a room.

Does anyone know if the AAA rate better if you book through Disney or through AAA?

Also, what are the pros/cons of booking through AAA?

Thanks.

Same price. I like booking through disney because I think they are better! If you get a cm you don't like, just call again! I also have not found a AAA agent I like and I feel like I am bugging them with my too many questions- I never feel that way with Disney they encourage you to ask all the questions you want!!:) Also there is no middle man! AAA usually always has to call me back with answers and we play phone tag. I am usually too impatient for that! When I want an answer I want it then because I am too excited about the planning!!!:goodvibes They are Disney, they know the answers or will get if for you right then and there! I basically have been told whoever you go with is suppossed to answer all your questions. AAA has never given me the quality of service that Disney has.

I booked through AAA and, while the process is fine, I would prefer to deal directly with Disney myself. The reason I used AAA agent this time is because I needed to join in the first place to get the discount and then they told me that they would waive the application fee if I booked the package with them.

I am wondering....in the future, can you only use the AAA discount on room-only or can you use it with a package through WDTC?

Great info! Thanks so much. I think I'll stick with AAA through Disney. I definitely appreciate how helpful the Disney CM's are. Plus, I'm still hoping for an AP rate for my dates!!

You may book a room only via WDTC and get the AAA discount - if you want a package with AAA discount you must book via AAA.

Yes this was my understanding too. But we ended up getting free dining so that was worth more then any other way. The disney cm figured we were paying $55/night at WL when we factored in the free dining!!!:cool1: We had two rooms with 5 in each room(1 in each room under 3)only one was 9 and under, all the rest were over that age.(my parents came with us) We got our monies worth!:dance3:

I didn't mention it because it didn't apply to her post with a room only and AP.

Is there a special/different phone number to call when trying to book AAA rates through Disney. I called (407) 939-6244, but the CM I talked with said I had to call AAA directly to get AAA rates.

I think it depends on what you are trying to do. If you are just booking a room with AAA discount you should be able to go through disney. If you want a package w/AAA discount you have to go through AAA. I believe you can go through other AAA offices other than your own in your state. I know at one time I almost bought Disney tickets through the FL office because they didn't offer the same type through mine. I've never been too impressed with our office.

FWIW...I checked the hotel rates through AAA and it was the same price as Disney had quoted for the POP Century.

However...when I called Disney to make the reservation, I asked about discounts and we discussed all options...FL Resident...annual passholder...PIN by my name. The answer...NO....NO...NO.

Then he asked, "Are you a member of AAA?" I was able to get a nice discount off of my room rate.
