AAA rate+Annual Pass+Dining Plan???

I posted a couple of questions on this topic in another thread already, but I was hoping to find any expertise on AAA + Annual Pass+ Dining Plan. I already have a AAA MYW package with DDP for Nov/Dec booked through my AAA TA. I would like to now purchase an annual pass in place of my 9day Park Hopper tickets. I called Disney and they said this now can be done (through AAA TA) without buying any additional park tickets by just switching the package. My concern is that I will lose my AAA room rate. Disney Travel does not allow the package booked with the AAA rate room but they do allow an AP rate room. All Disney could say is that it is up to AAA and I would probably be able to keep the rate. Has anyone done this? My TA is on vacation so I am at a loss until she returns. (We are planning for a short trip in late May that is why I am so curious now.) Thank you in advance!!!

You have some other option also;

- get the 9 day tickets for now. Don't upgrade untill you get to the parks. This way there is no possibility of losing the AAA-rate as you've allready checked in before upgrading. Upgrading would only cost you the difference between the both, just like upgrading now


As I understand, everybody in the room should have an AP to be able to add DDP to an AP-package (which you couldn't get untill the codes come out for it). If not everybody on the reservation has an AP, that might be something you want to look into to make sure the AP-package would be possible for you. But then again, I'm still not 100% sure about this last part, so ASK!

My suggestion to you is simple:

Wait till you get there.. on the final day you visit the parks - upgrade your passes to AP's.

Make sure to have used up your dining plan credits because this type of upgrade can screw up any remaining credits on your dining plan.

The other alternative is they can separate out your tickets from your room key at check-in and then you can take those separate tickets and upgrade them to AP without messing up your dining plan options!

Thank you for the advice. That will work for the short trip in May but I don't see how that helps the December trip? I wanted to purchase annual passes now for this trip in May. Then be able to use them in Dec with my package with dining plan while not affecting the room rate I already have booked. Sorry if I wasn't clear. It's been a long day

If you want to use the AP's in May you'll have to buy them in May (or sooner). There's no way to book a package for December and pull the tickets out early - they won't be activated until the day you check in on the package.
