I booked a waterview room at CBR with AAA rate for July 8-16. If I want to add the DDP, what do I need to do? This is my first experience with AAA. I'm hoping for an AP rate, but for now, this will have to do.

Thanks,
Melanie

Well a couple of things.

If you hold an AP -- then I'm guessing your current reservation is ROOM ONLY?

If that's the case, you need to change that to a package.. that includes at least 1 day theme park base tickets. The only way the DDP is available is that way. (Some exceptions for DVC owners don't apply here)

If you booked with an AAA agent they should be able to point you in the right direction. If you booked with Disney directly - you'll need to cancel that. AAA/Disney discount packages can only be booked thru AAA travel.

Right. You must book a package if you want the DDP and, if you want the AAA rate, you must book through AAA. We have done just that and their package is just about exactly the same as the package through WDTC. The difference is the cost.

Thanks so much. Now, do I have to make the change before the 45 day mark or can I wait longer than that? I'm still hanging on for that AP rate, though.

Well it goes like this..

You should realize that with an AP rate, there is no dining plan available. Nor is there any such thing as an AP 'package' that includes dining. So.. you're going to have to pick which you want more.

If you choose to book a package within the 45 day window.. you can.. but the full amount is due and payable at time of booking.

Your room only reservation (if that's what you currently hold) can be cancelled up to 6 days prior to your check-in with your one night deposit on the room 100% refunded.

Did you book through AAA? If you did, then you can probably add the package on at any time. If you have to change from WDTC to AAA then you better check as you would have to cancel the one and rebook through AAA. A problem could be that on rebooking the AAA rate may be gone by that time...

Okay, thanks for the information. I'm going to keep it like it is and hope for an AP rate. Right now, I'm booked room only and don't want to change that really. We have APs and DDE, so the DDP isn't really necessary. Still thinking positive thoughts for those AP rates......pixiedust:
