I know there is a way to price a trip on the AAA site, but can't get it figured out as of yet. Does anyone know what steps I should be doing? I keep playing with it , but so far I'm not figuring it out. I know I did it before. I'm feeling under the weather today, so I think my brain must be foggy.

when i go to my aaa site, i need to know what the rack rates are and then I can see what the discounts are. the site does not say what the rack rate is, just the rate they offer. and i have never been able to get pricing for a package on the aaa web site at all.

I know the rack rates, I am trying to find out what the discount is, but can't figure out how to do it. I can't get any Disney hotels to show up. could you tell me the steps so I can see what kind of discount there might be?

You cannot get a package price on the AAA website, only rooms at the discounted rate. The rack rates are not visible there.

You'll have to login and then do a search for the hotel you're looking for. Go in through the regular hotel search, not the Disney part of the AAA site.

I did try that and I couldn't get any Disney hotels up. But I don't think I was logged in. I kept looking for a log in spot and couldn't figure it out. Like I said, I'm not feeling so wel ltoday and I think my brain is suffering! LOL!

n general, the discounts run as follows:

*

During Value Season you can get up to 15% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 20% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
*

During Regular Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
*

During Peak Season and Summer Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts.

It's on the room portion, regardless of whether or not you book an entire package.

I booked! But I got tow different quotes. One told me no discount rates for the time I'm going the other one was about 75 less. I booked the cheaper one of course, but I wonder why one place had a discount and the other didn't?

Let us know exactly what/when/who you booked and we'll see if it matches what it should be.

Cant I book a AAA discounted resort ressie by calling the main CRO?

I just got off the phone with a CM who told me they could not do this - but that a AAA reservation agent had to make the reservation instead! I was trying to make a ressie for 11-25 through 11-30

I know this is not true!

I know 1-407-934-7639 number has the ability to apply the AAA discount directly. I know because I have a continuing ressie that I made through the Disney website, (for the following week) and when I called this number and told them I had AAA a nice CM canceled the website ressie and applied my AAA discount and gave me a new reservation number! :headache:

Has anyone else had this experience?

Are you booking a package or hotel room only?

Package w/AAA discount = must be booked by AAA agent
Room only w/AAA discount = can be booked by CRO

It might also be because the reservation was made online. When you book online, the cast members at CRO cannot apply the AAA discount to that existing reservation, they must cancel the old reservation and make a new one. Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago when I was booking our room only for 8/23 - 8/31/08. I had booked online, but when I joined AAA and wanted to apply my discount code they had to cancel my old ressie and make a new one.

Ohhhh! That explains it! My continuing ressie is a room only...and when I tried to make this second ressie it was for a package. The cm didnt tell me that tho~

Wow Thank you Ilovestitch & jenjen3574!!!

I was feeling like I was losing it.

Guess I just needed to learn from the REAL Disney Experts! :teacher:

Thank you again.:wizard:

I booked with AAA in OH. They quoted me 1758.00 for preferred, POP ,with dining, 5 nights, 5 day regular passes.. South Carolinas AAA (which I booked with last year and got a better deal) was rack rate at 1832.00 Not alot of difference, but hey who doesn't want to save some cash.

The diff was probably trip insur which AAA likes to add on.

Would need to know when you're going and who's in your party for an accurate rate quote.

To price a room-only on the AAA site, you must first click on the Hotel tab. Then fill-in the destination. I use "Lake Buena Vista," but there may be a better choice. Next, there's a dialog box to choose just Lake Buena Vista and something like Kissimmee area (not exactly what it says, I'm sure). I choose just Lake Buena Vista, which will narrow the list to about 60 hotels. Sometimes the Disney resorts begin to appear at the bottom of the first page, but usually you have to go onto the next page. All of the available AAA codes will be listed for your time frame. Sometimes, there may be 3 or 4 and sometimes there will only be 1 -- or none, if no discounts are available for a particular resort.

Oh and we are going March 2 and checking out the 7th. One agent just told me that no discounts were available.
