AAA question for Jan????

I am not a member.. because we don't travel but maybe once a year. We have road side assistant with one of our cars already. As of know we are booked at AKL savvannah view.. maybe switcihng to WL or CR. But only have a room only because of packages are not out for 2008 yet. I was thinking about becoming an AAA member to see if it will save me...will it? Or will I break even? I have heard that there is a chance for a 40% discount code... so I'm confused on what to do.

Well, you should be able to get an AAA discount, it's usually 10-20% off, I think. As I understand it, as far as the 40% off code, that hasn't happened historically in January, but it could. The last few years, the January discount has been free parkhopper and waterparks and more option for a base ticket price.

Can anyone else out there confirm?

Oh, and you can book the room through WDW with the AAA discount by mentioning it, if you want to see what it will cost. You have to book an AAA package through AAA, though. If you do just book the room, you have to show AAA membership at the time of check in, so you don't have to order it before you then. I've also read many reports of people not being asked to show it upon checkin, but that is not something I would recommend. I would just call WDW and ask what the cost would be with an AAA discount, and see if it is worth it. Good luck!

And to be clear.. the 40% discount had nothing to do with AAA. It was an email/postcard sent to selected previous guests to encourage them to return to Disney.

The booking window for the previous offer closed on March 15th. It was mailed out to me on January 22nd and was good ".. Now thru February 7th.." and then a bunch of other dates.

So the availability of this discount in January was severely limited. I wouldn't count on something like this.
