AAA prefered parking

I read today that AAA members who purchase hopper passes in advance from AAA can get "AAA prefered parking" at the parks. Has anyone done this and just how "prefered" is the parking? Thank you.

It seems to vary among the AAA clubs. Most require that you book your vacation package through AAA and you will receive a coupon for Diamond parking in the WDW parking lots. These lots are near the front of the parks. The one at MK is near the handicapped parking.

Some offices will give them if you buy park hopper passes. I suggest you check with your AAA office.

We are getting ap for the first time this year and wondered if I can buy them at AAA? We got the diamond pass before and we really like the close parking. Just make sure that the cm see it and they will tell you to follow the blue line to get at the front of the parks!

While I was at AAA today they said that they only sell 4,5 & 6 day passes. I also found out that you have to buy at least a 5 day to get prefered parking. I guess we'll be hoofing it--that's ok, the parking lot trams are one of my boys' favorite rides! I guess the magic starts in the parking lot!

I've never used it but when we talked to the tram CM about AAA parking, she smiled and said actually it's just a certain area, but not really that much closer than where most people park on a moderate day. She said the walk from AAA to the tram can actually be longer than normal parking.

I agree with the CM. On our first trip, I used AAA preferred parking. I found it was more convenient and involved less walking to park further out and use the trams.

We used it in Nov and found the only AAA Diamond lot that was worth it was the one in EPCOT and the furthest away was MK. They are usualy situated next to the handicap parking.

Once was enough for us, we will be parking and taking the tram from now on.
