I have purchased a My way pkg. thru AAA. I read on mouseplantet that AAA pkgs. get access to preferred viewing for Illuminations and Wishes. Has anyone ever used these perks? Just wondering where they are and how you go about it.

I don't know the answer, I'm not a AAA member, but.. how much does it cost to join? Do you always get a discount in WDW?

I'm not sure of the preferred viewing for AAA members. However, I've used AAA twice for my DW trip, and they've saved me a good amount of $$$. This coming Oct., 2 adults, 5nts/6days at the Poly, MYW package with Park Hopper tix, and AAA is saving me $200.

I booked a package through AAA and did not get any information or was told anything about special seating for Wishes or Illuminations. I remember seeing a website that said that (mouseplanet maybe) but I think the site information was from 2002 or so.

Not sure about illuminations but I know the wishes preferred viewing is just outside the plaza restaurant where they have the tables set up down by the water. It's usually the smoking area but is used as the preferred viewing area during wishes. No smoking.

I don't believe that AAA offers the preferred sitting anymore. The info you were looking at was probably from previous years.

I was there last month and it was still a preferred viewing area. If it's been changed it was very recently.

I just pulled out my AAA info for our trip...it says that preferred viewing for Wishes, Illuminations, and Mickeys Jammin' Jungle parade is available for those who book a Dream Maker package with silver, gold or platinum added on through AAA. It does also state that a voucher is required.

That states a Dream Maker packages, but those have been discontinued. According to the Western New York AAA site, parade and fireworks viewing is no longer a benefit.

The WNY site lists a Diamond Vacation Card (for discounts on dining), Parking Pass, and MK lounge pass are the perks for booking a AAA package.

I'm aware of them being discontinued, I was just stating that that's what it says on my info I just recieved a few weeks ago. :earboy2: And since they've been discontinued, those perks are more than likely not available with the AAA packages.

How much does it cost to join :(

We paid $50 for me and my husband to join. We did join while they had a special rate. I'm not sure if registration costs are the same or different depending on where you're at. Have you went to the website, I believe you can get the info there on exactly how much it is.

We were there 2 weeks ago and one great perk was preferred parking at the parks. Just show the first parking attendant your AAA rewards card they give you when booking the trip and they point you to a partof the parking lot for AAA members that is a lot closer to the main entrance.

Came in handy, especially for the kids not to have to walk so far or wait for a tram.

I did go to the website.. it didn't tell me. I couldnt understand it.

what if I ask a taboo question...

My boyfriend's grandmother has AAA. Can she book the room using her AAA but put it in our names? :sad2:

If you're on the account. You'll need to have a valid AAA membership that belongs to somebody in your travel party. ie if you or your boyfriend have a card with either one of your names on it, you can use it.

Okay, go to the website www.aaa.com and towards the top on the left side of the page put your cursor over membership and click on join. The next place will have an area for you zip code, # of members, etc... Just put all the info in and it should give you a quote! Hope that helps!

Believe it or not, on our last trip the CM at check in did ask to see our membership card (1st time ever). Not sure how old you are, but I've put my 2 oldest children on my membership as auxiliary members. They get the discounts, 2 tows, etc. for no additional charge to me - might want to check into whether it would work for you. Good luck.

I've booked my last two trips through AAA and it saved me money. My AAA membership was $32.

The parking passes are wonderful and the free coke in the lounge at MK was one of the best things ever. It's quiet, cool and a free 20 oz bottle of coke product. We stayed for over an hour and the kids got cooled down.
