I read that AAA has special parking. Is that true? Does anyone know where they are located at each park? We booked through AAA and are deciding whether or not we should rent a car. This would be especially helpful info in our decision.

Thanks in advance.............

AAA Diamond parking is just beyond (further from the park entrances) than Medical/HP parking. This is a disadvantage at Magic Kingdom where all these rows are a pretty long haul from the TTC and are not served by the trams, but not bad at the other parks.

You need an AAA Diamond Parking Pass from the office through which you booked, and different offices have different restrictions on handing them out. Some will give them to anyone who asks; others will give them to members who make some portion of trip purchase through AAA; and others will only distribute them as part of a package.

We booked our trip through AAA so I would think I could get one. I'm still not sure about renting a car though. Thanks for answering.....

The AAA lot in Epcot is really the best. It's the closest parking to the entrance and well worth it. If you booked your package thru AAA, the parking pass should come with your paperwork when it is mailed to you. You can call your AAA travel agent to make sure.

Just a heads up - while the popular wisdom is that AAA gives you a pass when you buy a package from them, our local AAA gives the following advice when you buy tickets from them - "show your AAA Plus card with the diamond insignia to the lot attendant and you can use the Diamond preferred parking as well". I know others have said this isn't true or shouldn't be done, but AAA SE MA has said this every time we buy tix and Disney lot attendants always see the card and wave us in.

Do only AAA members with Plus membership have the diamond insignia on their AAA cards?

Oops, I have AAA Plus and don't see any diamond on my card.

I also have AAA plus and no diamond?

I already tried to get the pass from my AAA office and they said no because I booked directly with Disney.

How many AAA offices are near you? I have right on my way home; one in my city but a bit out of my normal route; one in the major city next to where I work; one not overly inconvenient if I can find something else to do in that area... anyway, why am I telling you this? Well, I may get one answer from one office and a completely different response from another office!

Go to AAA.com, click on Locate Branch Offices (or something like that) at the top of the page and see what's close enough for you to drive to. Then drive to a few of them - it's harder to say no to somebody's face. :flower:
