AAA parking

Can any AAA member park in AAA parking or do you have to book a package through AAA to park there? If anyone can park there, do you just show your AAA card or do you have to a get a special pass? If you need a special pass, where do you get it - through AAA or at your resort?

You have to have the special pass from a AAA office. Officially I think it's only for people who booked a room package through them but it's been reported other people have been able to get them by asking. I read recently that they are putting names and trip dates on them because they have been showing up on e-bay.

The AAA parking pass is required.How you obtain one depends on your local AAA office protocol.Some only give it out to people that purchase a Disney vacation pkg thru them.Others give them out if you purchase park tickets, and still others will just hand them out to members.You need to call and ask.I know my local ones will not give them out anymore unless you buy a pkg, whereas in the past they handed them out

It would seem that AAA is changing the way they deal with those AAA parking passes. The vast majority of offices give them out as a perk of buying a travel package with AAA. Some may give them to you as part of a ticket purchase.
It used to be, until just recently, that you were sort of able to pass your parking pass on to someone else....even though AAA said that the passes were not transferrable or for sale. People were actually selling their used AAA parking passes on Ebay!! Now, AAA has made the parking pass part of the booklet they give you...it has your name and reservation dates on the parking pass. You have to show it to the parking attendent, who will most likely ask to see other ID in order to confirm that you are the person listed on the parking pass.
There was a ton of abuse, so it would seem that AAA is closing up that loophole.
