Actually Plutoluvr may not be 100% correct. There is no one standard policy for this. It is dependent upon the individual AAA offices and how they decide to distribute the diamond parking pass. Some will just give it to you for being a member, some will give the pass when you buy park tickets through the office, others require you to book a package through the office.
Call your local office, or stop in and ask for one. You may find they will give it to you.
I just looked. (First time on ebay! UH OH, I feel another addiction coming on!) They all expire in Dec. Our trip is in January. I wonder if I'll be able to get one?
What does this parking pass do, just get you to park for free, or is it special parking? We have never stayed offsite and have always used disney transpertation, but we are considering an offsite stay in December.

It just gives you special parking spots closer to the entrance. The tram won't stop to pick you up, so you may end up walking more, though if you have strollers, it will be less of a hassle since you won't have to lug them on a tram. You still pay to park with the AAA Diamond Parking pass.
Be careful of what you are buying on ebay. They are cracking down on the pass abuse and now the passes are dated just for the trip and have a name on them. We just got back and this is the first time that we have had a pass like this. Don't know when they changed. Also, there is an attendant standing at the entrance to the AAA/handicap lot and they are checking the pass and we were told that if it is really busy they will ask for the AAA card.
AAA has specifically stated that these passes are not for sale or transferrable. That's pretty clear.
Different AAA offices have different policies. Some will give you the parking permit if you only buy a package. Others will hand it out if you just buy park passes. Not sure if any just hand them out to members without purchasing something first. Wouldn't hurt to ask.
I have to say that the 'special' parking allowed with the AAA parking permit is nice, but not 'all that' so to speak. It's a bit closer to park entrance points but not a huge difference. I can't imagine paying for something that someone else got for nothing...especially when the company that gave it to begin with has stated that transferring the pass or selling it are not allowed.
