AAA parking pass request

If you don't find one on here you could get it on Ebay that is where we usually get ours. Do you happen to have the DDE card? if you do you can get valet parking for free at the deluxe resorts. I know we are not supposed to but my DD and I sometimes go to the GF or POLY and valet the car and then ride the monorail in and with two little ones it would be sooooo much easier for you.
Hope this helps!
Have Fun!!

Wouldn't they tow your car even if it's valet? I thought I read that if you weren't a guest at that resort there was a time limit (I can't remember how many hours, but it was just enough for you to eat and maybe wander the ground for a bit, but definitely not a day in the park time length) and that some of them even check if you have an ADR? Maybe the valet part makes it different?

Technically with DDE they CAN ask for your meal receipt. (IT happened to me at WL, but they did not ask at AKL) The deal is FREE Valet while dining, not "free valet" while visiting the parks. (Of course I know I will now be "flamed" for pointing out the rules LOL!)

Well, since we're talking about rules here..technically, aren't the AAA parking passes non-transferrable? I could be wrong though. And when it comes to valet parking, sure there are some programs that you get it for free. But, I'm not absolutely sure you 'have' to be eating and that's it to use it. After asking several valet CMs, I've found that if you valet park, you can do whatever, wherever you want. If you choose to go to a park, so be it. Others will disagree though. Of course, I didn't ask the valet folks about free valet parking!

of course you are not wrong!

one of our board regulars often helpfully points out the 'non transferrable' information. I believe that she even has a photo to post if required....

Shall I go call her? ;) (kidding!)

Didn't mean to fan the flames, :rotfl2: I was just trying to understand. If free valet without restrictions was a perk to DDE that might make up for them now charging 18% mandatory gratuity :rotfl:

Sounds like that's a question that can only be answered at the time you valet park....whether the guy taking your keys is asking questions or just parking your car.

Somehow that just doesn't seem fair to the valet to have a lot of DDE's getting free parking. He still has to do the work, and yet DDE gets it free, and I can't see them adding a tip to a non-existant bill. Sheesh...sounds like the parking union needs to take some tips from the restaurant workers union folks.

Running and hiding from the extra flames that's gonna get me.

Oh wait.....

Well, we should all probably work a little harder and change clothes more frequently.... ;)

When I use my DVC or DDE cards for 'free' valet, I DO tip. Usually the cost of valet is billed to the room if staying at the resort, and people DO tip even if they are not paying cash in hand.... So I wouldn't worry about the valet being 'stiffed' just because there is no charge for DDE valet parking :)

I hope that people who are getting free valet parking are still tipping!

Well, one would hope....but didn't the mandatory tipping start because restaurant servers were complaining they were being stiffed. Think how easy it would be to stiff the valet when there isn't a bill to begin with. What do they charge for valet parking anyway?

I believe that they added the automatic gratuity to DDE in order to compensate the servers for taking the automatic gratuity off the DDP. Sure, every guest does not tip the way the servers would like. But, for me...no biggie. I usually just left the discount amount as a tip...20% was the discount so 20% for a tip. Now, with the 18% auto tip, the server is getting 2% less.
As for the valet employees...I still tip them, whether or not I'm paying to park. If someone is going to tip, they'll tip no matter what. If someone is going to stiff the employee, it won't matter if they paid the $10 fee or not.
I really don't think there are all that many people that actually park for free at valet parking. Not enough to make a huge deal over. And those that do use valet, are probably going to be tipping. Most people that have either DDE or DVC will tip automatically.

The FREE VALET while dining is PART of the info you get with the DDE. It's not a "valet" decision. The only decision is if they ask for your receipt or if they trust you. (At WL I was there for several hours which may be why they asked. I was actually at Dinner during that time so there was no issue)

Also, you should TIP regardless of it it's FREE or a charge. The charge goes to DISNEY not the valets. So if I park using my free DDE there is no difference to the valet in the amount of money the valet actually gets. (So yes, it's not really free just "cheaper") I agree that considering the threads I see on here, there are some folks stiffing the valets, but the "Free DDE" vs paying probably isn't the issue. IT's the overall "theme" of "it's all about what I can get".....

(And yes the AAA parking pass is NOT TRANSERABLE. But as usual on the DIS it's "Well if the rule isn't enforced then it's ok to violate it" Were do you draw the line??? )
