My husband went by AAA this past weekend (thank goodness because we didn't know about the rate increase today) and bought our hopper tickets. The parking pass they gave us for the AAA lot is dated 2003. My husband didn't notice this at the time of purchase so I called them today to see if this would be a problem since we aren't going until Nov. 2004. They said it shouldn't be a problem, plus that is all that they have. Has anyone ever had this happen and it cause a problem? I know it isn't the end of the world not to park in the AAA lot, but since it is supposed to be included with buying the tickets there, I wouldn't be happy if they tell us we can't use it when we get to one of the parks. Thanks a bunch!! Sandra ::MickeyMo

i would get a pass for 2004 or you may have a problem when you get to the parks. i know last year it was hit or miss with the parking attendant actually asking to see the pass. some just glanced at it, others didn't even care. i would insist aaa give me the correct pass.

I think I would tell them they need to get you the correct one, I would hate to go down there and them tell you couldn't use that parking pass because it was outdated

I just e-mailed AAA directly and asked for a replacement parking ticket. I will see what they say. Thanks for the input!!

Better safe than sorry....now having said that-we never got close enough for a lot attendant to check the dates. We just flashed it through the window and they always waved us on.

does the AAA parking pass get you free parking?? we were told we would have to pay $7 but would get preferred parking...

I believe you are correct, unless you are staying in a Disney Resort as well.

Is the AAA lot that much closer that it's worth getting the pass. We already have AAA, so it's not an added cost.

i remember last yr, at mk, the lot was next to the handicap lot. although you could get closer in the regular parking lot if you went really early, i still liked this lot because i didn't have to use the tram (so we didn't have to unfold and fold the strollers).

in mgm, ak and epcot, they would direct you to rows that were closer to the entrance, i believe.

it wouldn't be earth shattering without the pass but it was nice to have at times.

In MK.. the lot is right next to the Handicapped lot.... so.. you walk under the "street" and past the shop near the busses... Pretty close spot. In MGM... it is the first section after the Cast parking.. read as the first 3 rows of the regular parking section.... still have to take the tram.... In Epcot (and this changes during the busy season) also next to the Handicapped parking... to the left of the Monorail when facing the park.. a short walk to the entrance.. Animal Kingdom... also near the Handicapped parking.. and within walking distance.... we used the AAA Parking this last trip to test it out... never did it before... and found that when staying in a Disney resort.. it is best to take the bus to the MK because you don't have to take any other mode of Transportation to get to the park... off the bus.. walk through the gates... or... go to COntemporary and walk over to the park.... At MGM.. during the off season.. AAA parking was not a good choice.. the tram stops further away from that area.. and you end up walking further than if you parked in the regular section.... Epcot... I would definitely use it.... and Animal Kingdom as well.... Busses and AAA Parking are right near each other... as for the date checking.. noone ever looked closely at our pass... and Only once did someone actually check the dates on my AP for the free parking....

Have fun!!

Might I add to this post that I was told you only get these AAA Parking Passes if you book your vacation through them or purchase your passes through them.......you would think loyal annual customers would get them as well!

I think there are two different things being talked about. I know that the Diamond Parking Pass gets you closer parking and is free to members buying at least 2 adult Hopper Passes. They made it very clear to me that this is not free parking. Now I realize that she probably did this since I guess there is another pass you can purchase that gives you free parking but I don't know anything about that pass. I was surprised that I had to ask for this pass. My FIL bought his tix and didn't get one. It was never offered. I knew about it from Another site so I knew to ask for it.

Four days to go!!! WOOHOO!

Yes.. the pass we had was for AAA Diamond Club Parking.. I told my mom to ask for it when she bought her pass through them... She only bought One adult 6 day Park Hopper and they gave her 2 parking passes. (she asked for 2!!!) This is not free parking.. we get the free parking because of my Annual Pass AND we usually stay on Disney Property. And yes... if I didn't know to tell my mom to ask for the pass (only because of these boards!!!) they would not have offered it... my mom tested it ... she bought the pass... completed her purchase and not a mention of the pass.. as she was going to leave.. she then brought up the parking pass... Oh well.. I guess that is why the Diamond parking area is SOOOOOO limited.. not too many people know to ask for the pass...

Ok, I e-mailed AAA and they are mailing me a new 2004 parking lot pass. It would not have been the end of the world not to have this pass (since we still have to pay for parking), but since it is part of buying tickets through AAA I think I am entitled to one that has not expired. So anyway, thanks to everyone for encouraging me to ask for a new pass (since the office location was no help). Sandra
