I currently have booked room only AAA through CRO. I was hoping for AP rates but am not holding my breath. My ? is if I decide I want the dining plan (it will save a little money) do I have to cancel room only and book through AAA?

If this is the case it may not be worth my time, I think. It's not a huge savings. Only difference is we could order what we wanted off the menu vs what I have planned(no app's and one dessert to split for TS and splitting some CS meals) honestly we are not big CS eaters because of the grease. We will probably hit Captain Cooks a couple of meals.

Any other thoughts? Thanks

We booked a MYW with dining package thru AAA at the Poly last year. We saved over $600 from the quote with Disney! You would have to book it through AAA to get the AAA package price. Personally, I think the savings is worth it!

Also, we really enjoyed the dining plan and I will have it for both my trips this year! It was so nice having all of our food prepaid and being able to order whatever we wanted off the menu was a big plus!

I booked our upcoming July trip to Poly through AAA and saved close to $400. We got the package including dining and park hoppers--it was certainly worth the savings for me, and I'm glad I did it. Generally you'll save about 10-15% going through AAA.

Do a price comparison. Call your AAA agent have them book it for you and hold it with no deposit. Do a price check on the resturants you will be eating at.
