What are the park hoppers like that you receive from AAA (I am guessing Costco would be the same)? Do you have to turn certificates in at the ticket booths or do they send you your tickets directly?

Also, I think someone said you get a certificate for your lanyard and pin. Do these give you your choice of lanyard & pin or are they just basic, same for everyone one?

Thanks!

I just recently booked through AAA. I don't normally. The only reason I did this time was the fact that my mother wanted to. We did not need to. With the 5 for 3 special we got there was no additional discount.

However, they are sending us a package 21 days prior to arrival just like DTC. We are to pick it up from their office. Knowing that AAA books your reservation through DTC, my guess is that DTC ships the same package to them that they would for people that booked directly through DTC. (same coupons, same tickets etc.)

As far as the voucher for your lanyard...

The last two times I have booked through DTC, I received only a voucher for my lanyard. Not an actual lanyard. It was redeemable at P.T. Flea Market, Store Command, and the Disney Pin Trading kiosk in Downtown Disney.

We booked with Costco Travel once, and yes, like AAA they book through WDTC.

The voucher gives you a lanyard that is "branded" with whatever company you booked through...we had Costco Travel on our particular color lanyard (back then it was Year of a Million Dreams blue, it's changed since...back then the AAA lanyard was red and it's probably changed too), others had WDTC, others AAA, etc.

The pin was a very generic disney parks pin, BUT the CM that handed over our pin and lanyard said that we could trade the pin right there, and brought out her trading lanyard. DS and I kept our pins, but hubby traded his.

The tickets should be the actual tickets, and should be the "souvenir" type, meaning they are plastic. We had those with the Costco package, but when we upgraded to APs they didn't let us keep them.

Got my AAA package documents in the mail yesterday. The package contained:

1) Souvenier style 5 for 3 Parkhoppers (plastic, credit card sized);

2) Two rubber luggage tags with the characters on them;

3) Coupons and a "AAA Diamond card" with discounts (almostly always 10%) for mostly food venues in DTD; and

4) Vouchers for hotel and for the lanyards.

We've done AAA packages before and have always found the pins to be rather generic. I was not aware that the lanyards were branded with specific travel companies -- I think my old ones all say WDTC on them. This may be a change, or I just might not be that observant. :rolleyes1

Thanks everyone. This is just the info I was wanting. I appreciate the disboards so much!

The package said that there is free parking also. Was that a voucher that was included as well?

Thanks for all the great info! I'm still waiting for my package to arrive. Any day now as we arrive 3 weeks from Sunday! :yay:
