What would you do? We're going the week after Thanksgiving, and I know from my obsessive DIS habit and my Mousesavers newsletters that there is usually a code released for that time of year, but it won't come out until mid-late August at the earliest. So do I book with AAA to get the guaranteed discount but have to rely on the AAA agent to apply the code when it comes out, or do I book it myself, banking on that code, because I know I'll be up at 6:30 to apply it at the first possible moment?

My concern, obsessive as it may be, is that the AAA agent I've been in contact with to get quotes usually takes a couple days to get back to me. I don't know that I want to rely on her to apply a code because it might well be unavailable for our top choices (Poly GV or WL bunkbed WV) by the time we connect. I, on the other hand, am a SAHM ith an internet addiction - I know I'll be aware of the code and ready to apply it ASAP.

Is it really much of a risk to book at rack rate now and wait for the code, knowing that there has been a code for our dates for the last few years? DH is worried that we'll get stuck paying rack rates, but I don't think there is much chance of that at such a slow time of the year. Even if no code comes out, the AAA rate might well be available later on, right?

We booked the AAA rate right thru Disney - we're not getting a package - it was room only. If you get a better rate later, you can call yourself to change it. They only have a limited amount of AAA discounted rooms, so I think that you're better off booking now and trying to change later if something comes up.

You are already a member of AAA yes? So there are no extra costs. If I were you this is what I would do. Book with AAA if you are getting a package, and through Disney with a AAA discount if you are just getting a room. Then enjoy your OCD behaviors on checking codes (I'm exactly like you :thumbsup2 ) When you find a code that is worth it book it through Disney. Then you can cancel the AAA if the agent is slow on the code. As long as it is more than 45 days out you get the 200 back. So it won't cost you anything extra and you are guaranteed at least on discount, and hopefully a better one in the future:goodvibes ! You may be temporarily double booked but it's a lot easier to cancel one than to get one later! Good luck
