Do you know which way would give the best rates for planning a trip? I've heard a lot about AAA, but when we got the disney visa they said to call them when we wanted to book a trip. Just curious. We're stil in the trying to figure out if we can all go (10-12 people) or not.

I am going to move this to the Codes and Rates Forum. That is probably the best place to get this answered. :)

AAA pretty much offers a discount all year round on all resorts. The discount will range from 10 - 20 percent based on time of year and resort. You can get this discount by calling disney and making a room only reservation. If you want a package than includes this room discount then you need to book through a AAA travel agent.
The visa card has a program where you can get zero percent interest for 6 months on a package that is paid with the visa card, but there is no general discount available just for having the card. At times there may be discounts offered to card holders and at times they will offer discounts to card holders a few days before offering them to the general public. If you want the zero percent interest, you can book it with AAA and still get the room discount.

We used AAA to book our Feb 2009 trip because they were approximately $200-300 less than another travel agent and Disney's website for the same exact trip. I'd suggest shopping around, it could save you a few dollars

Get BOTH!!! Any packaged booked via AAA will include any available AAA discounts (there's a standard discount all year round), however if you pay with your Disney Visa, you get the 6 moths deferred payment option.

In addition, if a Discount code (be it a general one or a specific one for Disney Visa holders) comes out, your AAA rep can apply them to your reservation or make a new one.

Note that discounts are NOT stackables. That is, if a general code comes out, you'll pay EXACTLY the same as booking directly with Disney than thru AAA.

Also, booking with AAA you can opt to get insurance thru them instead of Disney's, which is a little bit cheaper and a bit more flexible.
