Has anyone here recently booked room-only using a AAA discount? Mousesavers says it is 10-20% off. I'm curious how the discounts work, but assume they are similar to the AP discounts, where as the higher discount is applied to a deluxe resort?

You have to book it through AAA .. just give your local AAA travel a call and they'll work up a quote for you..

If you're booking room-only you can call WDW reservations directly and ask for the AAA rate, you don't have to go through AAA (we've done this several times). However, if WDW reservations tells you that no rooms are available at the AAA rate (they limit the number of AAA discount rooms), your local AAA office might be able to book a discounted room for you. Whichever way you do it, be sure to have your AAA card with you when you check in - every time we've booked the AAA rate they have asked for it. Plus, if I recall correctly, they asked for the membership number when I made the reservations.

Yes....I agree with this. I've also booked AAA many times.

The discount varies based on the season and level of resort that is booked.

Recently booked a split-stay for late November/early December using a AAA room-only discount. It worked out to be 15% off a Moderate (King @ POFQ) and 10% off a Deluxe (Courtyard view @ WL).

Not sure how it compares to AAA discounts other times of the year as this is our first WDW trip, but hopefully a better special comes out around June or July. Or maybe a pin...but that's probably too much to hope for.

EDIT: Oops, double checked and had the wrong %'s. Fixed.

I have not stayed deluxe - but - I can give advice based on Values & Mods.

The Passholder discount is MORE THAN DOUBLE that of the AAA discount. :thumbsup2

Can you apply the AAA discount if you already have a reservation? Also does it work on the room part if you add dining and tickets?
