There are AAA discounts for hotels, cars and actually for my local car wash. Sometimes there are other discounts that are available that match. I find AAA useful for roadside assistance.

If you're talking about discounts for your WDW vacation, you can get the AAA room-only discount directly through WDW's Central Reservations just by asking for the AAA rate. The reservationist may ask for your AAA membership number and you may need to show your card at check in.

The only other great AAA discount is a discount on the room-only portion of a WDW dining package. To get that discount, you need to book directly through AAA. Make sure you know ahead of time how much the package would cost at full price and check to see if travel insurance is included in your quotes since some people have had difficulty getting their AAA TA to apply the discount correctly and others have been sold travel insurance that they didn't want and didn't realize they could opt out of.

We've also used AAA for discounts on hotels at places other than WDW, Payless Shoe Source, etc...

If you're asking if you can use the AAA rate and a promo code together, you can't. Unfortunately, it's either one or the other.
