Is there a AAA discount at the Portofino Bay Hotel's restaurants? Is there any type of discount for YouFirst members? I'm GOLD if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

Dont see the point in the 20% off if they are then going to load an 18% gratuity:confused3 gives a 2% discount in total. Sounds a Bit daft to me.

Nothing daft about saving some money.

For example, if your total owed was $100 at a restaurant, you'd add $18-$20 on as a tip. So you'd pay a total of $118-$120.

By deducting 20%, your total is only $80 plus an $18-$20 gratuity. Now your total is only $98-$100.

You save $20! :teacher:

your maths is far better than mine probably .18-20% tip for a couple is a lot for me as a student. If service is good I tip generously but if it is poor I dont tip as much and sorry if that offends.

and what do YOU define as poor? Poor to you is probably good to most

Excuse me!!!! Never had poor service and Always give a good tip ,more than asked most the time.At mama melrose once the waitress was rude, never even bought my Boyfriends starter and threw the cheque on the table-unfortunatley for her the manager saw her. Hence I gave her nothing although on the DDP and at that time the tip was included though I always gave extra. Now if you think thats good service you feel free to tip. You obviosly think its ok for people to be rude and get paid for it and I have seen a lot of customers who dont tip both UK and US and I have seen it first hand when been in the US. Unlike them I do so dont voice your sarcasm at me !!

With an automatic gratuity, you can speak with the manager to have it lowered if necessary.

Which brings me back to the point of this thread. If you tip generously, why wouldn't you take a 20% discount using a AAA card? Sounds a bit daft to me.

We just returned and we were able to use the AAA discount at most restaurants in CityWalk except for Bubba Gumps and at almost all of the counters/shops inside the parks. There were a few carts that would not accept the card. Just a note, you can also get 10% discount off of Butterbeer if you purchase it in 3 Broomsticks or Hogs Head, but not at the carts.

I found some good deals on restaurant.com for discounts at Trattoria ($10 off purchase of 2 entrees and they will apply that to two of the buffets) The Kitchen, Pastamore (20% off total order) and Nascar Cafe (20% off total order). None of the PBH restaurants would apply the AAA discount.

Cool. Thanks for the info. We are leaving two weeks from today for 5 nights at PBH and I will be sure to bring my AAA card.
