I am considering getting AAA just to get the hotel discounts. Are they worth it? We will be going May 31 - June 2, 2005 June 2 - 5 we will be doing the disney cruise. But I was wanting a discount on the Contemporary Hotel.

Just wanted to know before I made the purchase of AAA.

Thanks :confused3

Hey man, i'm going on my honeymoon in nov. I called up AAA and got the membership for $60 a year. I figured if the codes don't come out later I will still get a great rate from AAA and if the codes do come out AAA still gives me a discount on restaurants and roadside assistance. To me AAA is worth it if you look at the big picture.

I'm going in Nov. and the AAA discount is saving me $180. Even if you subtract the cost of the AAA membership I am still saving $120. I would call Disney and ask if the AAA discount is available for your dates at your chosen resort. If it is, AAA will give you a temporary membership number until your permanent card arrives.

For us it's worth it. We saved 276.00 off 2 rooms by using AAA. Plus you can use AAA discounts at other venues too. Not to mention the time my husband needed their towing service when his car broke down on the way to work. :)

We are saving almost 400 dollars for our trip the week of July 4. (MYW package with dining) You can go online and put in your info, and they will email you a quote. Just check on the "not a member" box. If you decide to book from them you will just need to join before you arrive.

I called tripple A and I got the same price as disney.

Stacy...I got almost $400 off last week using the AAA discount. I'm in NY.

It's worth it if no other discount comes out. We're saving $525.00 for a week in August.

don't forget the other aaa benifits ---- :flower:

like 10% off world of dis in dtd :teeth:

I'm saving $268 with the AAA discount. We have the AAA MYW Package + Dining (7 day hoppers) at Wilderness Lodge, woods view. This is for value season.

For those who get a quote from AAA that is similar or more than what you price through the Disney website, ask the AAA agent to double check if the discount has been applied to the room portion of the package. People are still having problems with the quotes being wrong.

AAA is well worth it to me - we already had it, plus save on other hotels for our other travels.

Hope this helps!

we got a quote directly from disney - 8 nights at CS, airfare, 7 days MYW tickets and the dining plan, 2 adults, 3 y/o and 2y/o - $3352 - same deal from AAA was $3330 - so it was not worth it for us - we're in Jersey - by the way does anyone know how to get better discounts, besides the "codes"

It sounds like you were given a quote without the AAA discount. I would call a different AAA travel agency and make sure they discount the room portion on the package. You should save a lot more than that.

We saved about $500 on what we could get thru Disney plus AAA got us an awesome deal on airfare. The lowest I priced on airfare was about $1400 for all 4 of us. AAA found a flight for right at $1000 for all of us. In total, saved me about $900.

For 2 adults and 2 kids (6 and 3):

Airfare
Rental car
1 night, room only at Pop
7 nights, AKL savannah view
7-day MYW ticket with park hopper option
MYW Dining plan

Total: just under $4500
AAA membership for me and DH: $82
Big savings!

AAA members save 10% at World of Disney? Hmmm......I didn't know that. I know annual passholders do.

AAA is saving me $200 for a 5nt/6day Poly stay for 2ppl in Oct. with Park Hopper tix. The roadside benefits are so important to me as well, while living with my cousin in the Bay area, I locked my keys in the car on Thanksgiving Day, I called AAA and within an hour they had a guy at the house getting into my car.... no charge. The travel discounts are worth it.

How do you find out where all your AAA card is good for discounts at? I have tried looking at their website and everything is so general. I was also thinking of getting into AAA if codes don't come out soon. That would be great to be able to use it at the World of Disney.

I didn't know either until I was just there, and my AAA card was on top of my Visa, the CM asked if I was AAA member, I said yes, and she said there was a 10% discount, I just had to show her my AAA card and resort card. I saved about 20 dollars!!! ( yes I bought alot :goodvibes )

The thing with AAA is that while you can get great discounts at Disney, you can also use it for discounts at the auto repair shop, resturants, hotels, flights, etc. We save much more then our membership costs each year using the various discounts.

For those not getting a good quote from AAA, check to see what EXACTLY is included in your quote. When I got my AAA quote they added charges for transportation and trip insurance making my AAA quote higher then my Disney quote. They also added dining for 7 days, but our hotel stay was only 5 days--the new pricing was too new for them to know how it works.

When I received my confirmation letter form CRO, included was all of my AAA benfit information. (when I called to make reservations I told CRO I was an AAA member when asking for discounts-- they may have marked my name) There was a card / flyer included called the AAA Diamond Card. On this was listed all of the discounts could be claimed with this AAA diamond card along with a vaild resort ID card. Discounts include shopping at world of disney, Dining, services, merchandise, recreation and lesiurs, and disney tours. Here is an abreviated list from the flyer ( the list is way to long to copy the whole thing here, but it is a start) :hourglass

:) Dining: 10% discount on food and non-alcholic beverages at fultons, Portobello Yatcht Club, Planet Hollywood, Bongos Cuban Cafe, Wolfgang Puck, the Official All Star Cafe. 15% discount on FD and NA-Bev at Earl of Sandwich. 20% Discount on FD and NA-Bev @ House of Blues, Traders Steak & Seafood House(Best Western), Outback Steakhouse (Wyndham Place), and Garden Grove, Gullivers, Kimono's Palio's and Spash.

:) Recreation and Lesure: 15% on one round at Winter Summerland, and at all 5 championship golf course (subject to availablity), 15% on water mouse rentals, 15% off any water Therapy at GF resort & Spa, 10% on Sammy Duvall Water Sports Center. AND 10% off a Ride along Driving Experience at Richard Petty.

:) Services: 10% off on auto repairs at the AAA car care center

:) Merchandise: 10% on purchases at world of disney at DTD, on purchases at Planet Hollywood, House of Blues, and Bongos Cuban cafe (excluding CD's and Tobacco)

:) Tours: 15% off the behind the scenes tours at all four parks (subject to availablity)

OK --- So this is the whole thing with out the numbers infront of each name :smooth: But hey, we all like to save a little money!!! :Pinkbounc

Hope this is helpful.

It's worth it to me. We have a AAA discount for our stay in December. When we went last year, we got our tickets from AAA and saved some $$, plus they gave us a AAA Diamond Parking Pass (didn't need it) and a coupon for 2 FREE Mission Space posters. We picked up the posters at the AAA center in the Magic Kingdom. We also use the AAA card to get discounts on other things like eyeglasses and eye exams and discounts at other attractions in our area (the Carolinas). Our AAA (AAA Carolinas) has a website that shows all the benefits.
