AAA Discounts and Free Dining

Has anyone booked the free dining plan through AAA and gotten the room discount also?

I have the package with the dining (I'm paying for it)

Will I be able to change my package? My 45 days for the final deposit isn't until Nov. 2.

I originally had booked AAA discount but when free dining came up I called my TA at AAA and was told I would have to forfeit the AAA discount to get the free dining promotion. I have heard of a select few getting both applied but this is not the norm. You can apply the AAA discount if you are paying for the dining plan. They limit you to 1 promotion code/discount for your reservation. With the free dining I gave up less than $100.00 discount to get the free dining and we would have been spending way more than that on food so the choice was easy for us. The free dining vs AAA discount was a better deal if you stayed in value resorts vs. mods or dlx resorts where you would get a lower rate on the hotel, so you really have to compare pricing differences of all package choices before choosing which plan fits your needs best.

Also you can change your package up to the final payment. Once the final payment has been made you cannot make changes - including adding insurance w/o paying penalties (Not sure how much they reinforce this though).

No one has gotten both discounts. In every case, it has turned out to be that they are getting "value" season rack rates on the room even though the first few days of the free dining offer are actually in "regular" season.
