AAA Discount?

I have booked a room only at the POR in Oct (value season) for 9 nights. I got the rack rate of $1344.69 for the 9 nights.

Now I learned (from this board) the AAA discount is 20% off value season rooms at a moderate. That would save me $269!

Ok heres my question, If I get an AAA membership & get the lower rate what happens when I go to buy my tickets (MYW Hopper) & possibly MYW Dining?
Do I have to book thru AAA for those since it will be a "package". Is there a discount for the tickets? Not sure how this works. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You have to book thru AAA to keep your room discount & get the MYW dining.

October is not value season. The discount will be less than 20%, not sure if 15% or 10% for that time of year.

If you plan to get the dining add-on, you'll have to buy a package through AAA to get the room discount and be able to do dining. Dining can't be added on to room-only discounts through WDWT.

This is correct for most of October. And you do need to book through AAA if you want the discount off the room portion, plus tickets and dining.

For value and moderate resorts:

20% discount - value season
January 1 - February 16, August 28 - October 4, November 27 - December 19

15% discount - regular season
April 17 - August 27, October 5 - November 26

Just make sure when you contact a AAA travel agent that the total is less than if you price the exact same thing at Disney's website. Sometimes people are still getting bad quotes that are higher or similar to packages without the discount.

We arrive on Oct 1 so we were lucky enough to get in just before value season ends...

You must book through AAA to get the discounted room rate and the MYW package with dining. I had a heck of a time with my local AAA TAs until I got a recommendation from another DIS board member and used his agent in South Carolina. We will be there Oct 1 as well, and we were given the discount and the package. If you want the TA's toll-free number, let me know. She can make room requests (view, non smoking, etc) and PS as well, just as if you were doing it on your own.

Curious, how much did you save with AAA? Was there a discount on park tickets & dining too? I am at the POR for 9 nights...How many nights are you going for? I never had AAA & wondered if it was worth it to get or just wait for a code/pin to come out. Thanks!

Parents booked AAA rate yesterday 3/8 at the Pop Century for $69 a night for June 25-3. It looks to be cheaper than some AP rates if I am not mistaken.

We just booked a package with AAA last week. For 7 nights in a 2 bedroom villa at OKW with hopper passes and dining we saved $574 over the Disney price (and another local travel agent). Our AAA agent was great and made sure she noted all of our special requests as we have one member of our party with medical needs.
