Would my dad be able to get a AAA discount for the end of May at the Poly?

I would suggest calling AAA or visiting their web-site to see what WDW resort packages or room offers are available.

You do not need to go through AAA to get the discount. Just call Disney CRO and ask if AAA discount is available for the dates and hotel you want. They only have a certain number of rooms available at the AAA discount.
Also, check out mousesavers.com. There are a lot of discounts available.

I believe that you may only be able to get a 10% discount as it is peak season; we were able to secure a 20% discount as we are going in value season. (I think holiday is 5% and regular is 15%). I hope this helps and yes, you can just call Disney directly and they will tell you what is available - good luck
