Can you get the AAA discount on a moderate at Easter break? What is the discount rate typically? also...can I book this rate myself or does it have to be booked by a AAA travel agent?

Thanks...

Jess

I'm not sure about Easter but I have 2 rooms booked at POR for this Thanksgiving using the AAA rate. The discount is 20% off of the rack rate for the season. It will depend how many rooms are available at the AAA rate for the Easter holiday at the resort you select. :D ;) :D

When I called WDW for rates....
I was told that the AAA rates were blocked out from April 19 to the 26th.
I'm not sure if going through an AAA agent would make any difference.
It never hurts to call.....things change all the time.

When I called CRO to check about AAA ressies, they told me a AAA
agent had to make them-they have a special ressie line for them.

No big deal-I had my CAA Disney Specialist call for our April/May vacation and they got the 20% for us.

I have booked myself and gotten AAA rates. I wonder if you had a new CM or if the rules have changed?

When I called CRO last week the CM told me AAA rates could be gotten through WDTC.:D

The AAA discount for room only that you read about on these boards can be gotten through CRO or WDTC. If you book with a AAA agent through their travel agency you will be booking a package. AAA does not book room only reservations. I found this out last year when I heard about the AAA discount here and called our agent there to find out why she hadn't told us about the 20% discount we could have gotten for value time. She explained that those discounts are something different and can not be gotten through AAA agencies.

AAA does book room only reservations. They've priced them out for me a few times.

You're lucky then because even CRO told me not to be upset with AAA because what they told me was right. Maybe they do it in really big cities? Although I do live in a big city nobody here ever does anything. Makes me so angry. I have read that you can purchase park hopper passes at AAA at a discount but our AAA got really nasty when I called and asked them. They told me only in Florida you can buy them but I know that is not true.

Actually, haven't they had some pretty good buy one, get
one 1/2 price deals through AAA recently?

What I got was room only reservations through AAA. 7 nights preferred room with insurance was $759.75. They have 4 day hopper tickets for $200. She said if I wanted 5 days or more she could order them for me. The last time I needed Universal Tickets they only had 1 day tickets and I had to go to a AAA in the next little town to get them because they were in a different region than ours and offered a different variety of tickets. Too bad they can't offer the same things to all members at all locations, since we all have to pay for AAA membership fees.

Boy, ain't that the truth? What I find amazing is that we can get Universal tickets at our AAA office here but not WDW passes. It doesn't make sense to me but when I said that to the agent on the phone she acted as if I had lost my mind. With your rooms though, were you able to get the same kind of AAA discount like they offer through CRO and WDTC?

Yes, that is why I went ahead and let my travel agent do it because I figured if I am going to pay for my membership at AAA I might as well let them earn it. She calls WDWTC on the AAA line.
I am starting to think that CRO is as bad or worse than AAA since it all depends on who you get at CRO as to whether you get different terms as WDTC or not. I don't have time to play games I get too impatient with the run around. My husband says just get the reservations and don't be looking any more for something better it is just like buying something in the store and a week later finding out someone else has it at a cheaper price. When we bought a big tv he said don't even look at another sales ad you will just be disappointed if you find a better price. Just get what you want and be happy no regrets. I am going to WDW and that is the happy part and I am sure someone else will get a better rate than I! As long as I can pay the rate I got it makes no difference.

I agree-but it's always an added bonus/nice surprise
if you can get it for less.
